Student Blog: A Monday in My Life at Fordham University

A couple of years ago, when I was initially deciding which school to attend, I heavily considered what a day in the life of the students at that school would look like. At Fordham, with two campuses, as a Rose Hill student pursuing a theatre minor, my day-to-day looks different than most, so I thought I would detail a Monday in my life to hopefully give people a better understanding of life at Fordham!

Black To Comm Announces E.U. Tour Dates with Fly Pan Am

2019 was a busy year for German sound artist and producer Marc Richter. Following the release of two critically acclaimed albums under his Black To Comm moniker, Seven Horses For Seven Kings and it's companion piece Before After, touring with The Body and working on new sound art commissions, Richter has now announced more European dates for early 2020, including a headline show at London's Cafe Oto, and a run of dates with Fly Pan Am. Striking a delicate balance between composition and improvisation, Richter's live shows see the producer improvising around elements of his recorded material, twisting haunted samples and bristling electronics into surprising new shapes. 

Town Mountain Releases 'Down Low' Video Featuring Tyler Childers

Known for their rowdy, energetic performances, Town Mountain has spent most of 2019 on the road, playing major festivals and venues across the country, including the legendary Grand Ole Opry. On September 30, the band made their debut at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, to a sold-out crowd alongside prolific singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen and Grammy-nominee Tyler Childers. Today, JamBase premiered the band's live performance of “Down Low” featuring Childers, who co-wrote the duet with banjo player and vocalist Jesse Langlais for Town Mountain's most recent album, New Freedom Blues. “It's always a pleasure to do shows with Tyler and The Food Stamps,” Langlais explains. “We love the guys and we love the music, brothers in arms! And it's always a highlight when Tyler comes up with us and performs 'Down Low'. Especially at a venue like Red Rocks where you can just feel the energy and magic in the air.”

Winterfest Student Showcases Are Coming to the Armory Food & Event Hall

Seattle Center Winterfest Student Showcases, Nov. 30-Dec. 22, endure as a beloved tradition alongside the professional Winterfest entertainment on Seattle Center Armory Mainstage. The 100+ showcases enliven the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall while offering public and private school groups the opportunity to share their artistic accomplishments with family, friends and the public. All performances are free of charge and present seasonal music, along with a varied selection of works for choral, dance and instrumental ensemble.
