The smash hit Off-Broadway musical,' Dames at Sea opens the Saint Michael's Playhouse summer 2009 season Tuesday, June 16, and runs through June 27, starring Broadway musical talent top to bottom. Tickets for the show are discounted 20% through the run of the show if bought as part of a four-play season subscription. Performances of 'Dames' are Tuesday, June 16 through Saturday, June 20, at 8 p.m. each evening and Saturday, June 20, and Saturday, June 27, at 2 p.m., on the stage of the McCarthy Arts Center on the campus of Saint Michael's College.

Jamie Foxx's 50-city North American 'Intuition Tour,' which will officially kick off in July in Las Vegas, makes a stop at the Fox Theatre at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 6.

The full list of winners for the British Academy of Film and Television arts were given out in London on February 8, 2009.

Fifteen of the 20 nominees in the acting categories will be among the almost 120 Academy Award nominees who will gather at noon on Monday (February 2) at the Beverly Hilton Hotel when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences honors this year's Oscar contenders at its annual Nominees Luncheon. Additional confirmations are expected to come in over the weekend.

Rubicon Theatre Company continues its 'Brave New World' Season with Edward Albee's most intoxicated and haunting play, WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? He was part of the historic company of Jean Genet's The Blacks, which incubated a generation of future black stars, and his long association with Joseph Papp's New York Shakespeare Festival saw him in classical plays including Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice and King Lear. Awards for his theater work include Tony Awards for the Broadway productions of The Great White Hope and Fences, a Tony Award nomination for On Golden Pond, and Obie Awards for Clandestine on the Morning Line, The Apple, Moon on a Rainbow Shawl and Baal, a Theatre World Award for Moon on a Rainbow Shawl and the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Fences. Additional theater credits include Paul Robeson, The Iceman Cometh,Of Mice and Men and seven different productions in the title role of Othello. He recently starred in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof on Broadway.
