Carrie Coon to Receive Vision Award at The Jacob Burns Film Center Gala

2026 Tony nominee Carrie Coon will be honored with a special tribute by the Jacob Burns Film Center (JBFC) during its 25th Anniversary Gala on Friday, June 12. A member of the Jacob Burns Film Center, Coon will receive the Vision Award for her body of work across stage and screen.

Alongside Coon, the Gala will honor JBFC Founder Stephen Apkon with a Legacy Award, recognizing his vision and creative leadership, and JBFC Director of Development Judy Exton, who will receive the David Swope Leadership Award after 25 years of service to the organization.

“This Gala celebrates what has always been at the heart of the Burns, bringing people together through film and the conversations that follow,” said Mary Jo Ziesel, Executive Director of the JBFC. “We are especially proud to honor Carrie Coon, an extraordinary actress whose work has resonated with audiences across film, television, and stage."

The Gala will take place on the JBFC campus (364 Manville Road, Pleasantville, NY) and will feature a program celebrating the honorees, with special guests and conversations, followed by a party. Packages are available at $25,000, $15,000, and $10,000, with individual tickets priced at $2,500 and $1,000.

The leadership for the event includes Honorary Chair and JBFC Board member, Ron Howard, along with the Gala Committee, led by JBFC Board member Heidi Rieger.

Carrie Coon’s work spans stage, television, and film. Her portrayal of Honey in the Broadway revival of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? earned her a Tony Award nomination. Since then, she’s appeared Off-Broadway in Placebo (Playwrights Horizons) and Mary Jane (New York Theatre Workshop), and has been a company member with Steppenwolf Theatre (2019). She was most recently  on Broadway in Tracy Letts's Bug, for which she has received a Tony nomination.
