Legendary actor, activist and philanthropist Ed Asner passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, surrounded by family at 91.

The Book of Moron, a new comedy written by and starring Robert Dubac (The Male Intellect: An Oxymoron?), will play at The SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street) beginning August 12, it was announced today by Moment-to-Moment Productions.  Opening night is set for August 23.

Bryant Park has announced the partial film lineup in its iconic Bryant Park Movie Nights series, which will be returning this summer after being paused due to the pandemic. Entering the 27th season, the series is a welcome return to outdoor events in New York City.

Christine Baranski joined last night's episode of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert! The star joined Colbert in helping welcome live audiences back to Broadway (at the Ed Sullivan Theater where the late show is shot) by performing a duet of 'Side by Side' from Stephen Sondheim's Company!

This one-man show portrays a professional clergyman-educator with a deep passion for film and theatre. The combined efforts of playwright Dean Parker and actor Andrew Laing portray a character who is subtle and complex, familiar and loveable. An excellent performance will allow the audience to feel Brother Vianney's own emotions.

This is a plea to all of the writers out there-the introverted, hiding-behind-a-laptop, don't-look-at-me writers. Do improv. Join a troupe. Do it with your friends. Do it by yourself. (Robin Williams did!) There's the obvious benefit that everybody points to with improv-an increased ability to think and speak on the fly, growing more comfortable with public speaking.

Bring the family to see these classics the way they were meant to be seen – on the big screen!  In addition, these classics will each be accompanied by exclusive commentary from TCM hosts who will provide insight, background and more, making these events that movie lovers won't want to miss.

In my humble opinion, these films provide valuable lessons about acting and are overall cinematic masterpieces. I think all young actors who are learning about truth, honesty, subtlety, and character should watch these movies before they graduate.
