Alliance Theatre Names Lawrence Bennett The New Director Of Production

After conducting a thorough national search, the Alliance Theatre is pleased to announce that Lawrence Bennett has been chosen as the new Director of Production for the Alliance Theatre, beginning July 19, 2021.  Bennett brings to his new role 15 years of production management and technical direction experience in a variety of company leadership positions.

The College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin has named Professor Robert Ramirez as chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance. Ramirez, head of the Acting program in the department, has been serving as interim chair since summer 2019.

Hollywood's drunkest magic show, DIRTY TRICKS w/ The New Bad Boys of Magic, extends into its third smash(ed) year at The Three Clubs. Headliners at the world-famous Magic Castle, The New Bad Boys of Magic (aka Daniel Donohue and Eric Siegel), continue to shock and delight audiences with their signature brand of NSFW character comedy and top-notch illusions. Joining them for each performancea?'generally running on the third Sunday of each montha?'is a rotating cast of the world's foremost professional prestidigitators. Audience members (21-and-over, please) arrive early to grab drinks and enjoy close-up magic performed right at their tables. Co-produced by Greg Karber, the first three DIRTY TRICKS shows of the year are scheduled for Sunday, January 19th, Sunday, February 16th and Sunday, March 15, 2020. Doors open at 7:00pm for cocktails and close-up magic. The Bad Boys take the stage at 8:00pm and the show goes until 9:15pm. This morning, the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust announced the complete programming lineup for Highmark First Night Pittsburgh 2020. Starting at 6 p.m. on December 31, 2019, acclaimed local, national, and international artists will animate the Cultural District and ring in the New Year. Two Zambelli fireworks displays, the signature New Year's Eve Parade and its famed giant puppets, the 'Countdown to Midnight,' and raising of the Future of Pittsburgh Ball complete the celebration.

Miracle on 34th Street: A Live Musical Radio Play, adapted from the 1947 Lux Radio Broadcast by Lance Arthur Smith, original songs and arrangements by Jon Lorenz, directed by Joseph Leo Bwarie, with musical direction by Anthony Lucca, choreography by Anna Aimee White and produced by Kyle Montgomery, will have its Los Angeles debut this Friday, November 1 at Actors Co-op's David Schall Theatre. The musical runs Friday, November 1, 2019 - Sunday, December 15, 2019.

Chicago Magic Lounge, Chicago's home for close-up magic, announces offerings for Winter and Spring 2019, including special Signature Shows celebrating Valentine's Day and CML's one-year anniversary in February, as well as upcoming Showcase performers. Actors Theatre of Louisville announces Fifth Third Bank's A Christmas Carol, based on the book by Charles Dickens, adapted by Barbara Field and directed by Drew Fracher. Celebrate the warmth of the holidays with Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future. A beloved tradition for more than four decades and the nation's second-longest continuously running production of A Christmas Carol, Actors Theatre's rendition of Dickens' classic tale is brought to life with visual splendor and joyous music. A Christmas Carol will play November 20-December 23 in the Pamela Brown Auditorium.
