On Saturday Evening, October 12, 2019, Los Angeles Opera presented Adam Guettel's THE Light In the Piazza. A musical theater work rather than an opera, Piazza provided the audience with a nostalgic excursion to Florence and Rome in the 1950s. For opera star Renée Fleming it was a tour de force as she not only showed onlookers various stages of her character's complete change of heart, but also gave us the glorious high notes and legato singing of opera along with the snappy repartee of musical theater.

Following the announcement that London Musical Theatre Orchestra are heading out on a UK tour with A Night At The Musicals, opening at Royal & Derngate, Northampton on 22nd October, LMTO are thrilled to reveal that the cast will include Emma Hatton (Wicked / We Will Rock You/ Evita), Barry Keenan (LMTO's A Christmas Carol / Walk Like A Man), Emma Kingston (In The Heights / Les Misérables / Grease) and Luke McCall (The Phantom of the Opera / Les Misérables).

Casting is complete for LA Opera's upcoming production of The Light in the Piazza. West End musical theater stars Rob Houchen, Liam Tamne and Celinde Schoenmaker, along with celebrated soprano Marie McLaughlin, join a formidable cast led by Renée Fleming, Dove Cameron and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Renée Fleming will reprise her starring turn in The Light in the Piazza in the United States this fall. Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas' six-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical will be directed by the UK's multiple Oliver Award-winning Daniel Evans.

'West End Does' has announced, following a terrifyingly terrific Halloween Concert last year at the Fortune Theatre, that 'West End Does: Halloween' is back for its second year on Sunday 27th October (2pm & 6pm). With a Magical theme this time round, and an all star cast including John Owen-Jones (Les Mis, Phantom); Trevor Dion Nicholas (Genie - Aladdin, West End); Carrie Hope-Fletcher (Heathers, Les Mis); Hiba Elchikhe (Aladdin Int. Cameron Mackintosh presents Les Misérables - The Staged Concert with a company of over 65 running until 30 November 2019 at the intimate Gielgud Theatre, next door to the home of Les Misérables at the recently re-named Sondheim Theatre.
