Vampire attacks, werewolf sightings, and the resurrection of an Egyptian Princess all set the stage for laughs in Island City Stage's newest production of “The Mystery of Irma Vep: A Penny Dreadful” by Charles Ludlam, running through July 10.

The Wilma Theater announced today that Fête 2022 will honor retiring Co-Founding Artistic Director Blanka Zizka, who recently departed the company after 40 years in the position. Fête 2022 will be held on Monday June 13, 2022.

 Island City Stage invites the community to listen, laugh and vote for South Florida’s funniest during its Stand-UP. STAND OUT! Comedy Contest in advance of PRIDE Month on May 23. The theatre company has sought out local comics to test their stand-up shtick in front of a live audience in the hopes of securing a spot to open-up for select shows during the run of the company’s upcoming production of “The Mystery of Irma Vep” by Charles Ludlam, a comedic horror satire. “The Mystery of Irma Vep” is part of the award-winning theater company’s 10th Anniversary 2021-22 South Florida Season.

 Fake Friends, a theater and digital media production company that develops and produces original works for the stage, screen, and internet, will premiere the hybrid in-person and livestreamed presentation of Pulitzer Prize Finalist Circle Jerk.

The Tony Award-winning La MaMa ETC will mark Pride and celebrate its 50+ year history of drag artistry when a bevy of trailblazing queer and drag stars are honored at LA MAMA LOVE CABARET on Tuesday, June 22 at 6:30 p.m. 

From the true-story scandalous period drama that started it all for the company to the Southern Gothic Tennessee Williams mystery surrounding an elite New Orleans family to an interactive audience introspection about race and diversity in America, Island City Stage offers compelling storytelling in an intimate setting. 

Island City Stage is reaching a milestone in its upcoming 2021-2022 season as it celebrates its 10th Anniversary. The new season begins with a revival of the very first play they produced and continues their tradition of presenting a combination of new work and classics, hilarious comedy and cathartic drama.  

HERE will present the world premiere of The Visitation, a sound walk, a haunting site-specific experience created by Stephanie Fleischmann, Christina Campanella, and Mallory Catlett The sound walk marks the first collaboration between Campanella, Catlett, and Fleischmann since their production of Red Fly/Blue Bottle.

RED BULL THEATER today announced that its 2020-21 offerings will continue with a special event benefit reading of Frances Burney’s The Woman Hater, directed by Everett Quinton. The reading will  feature Bill Army, Arnie Burton, Veanne Cox, Rebecca S'Manga Frank, Cherie Corinne Rice, Matthew Saldivar, Jenne Vath, and Nick Westrate.

The third installment of Toast The Vote!, the series sponsored by the CT Chapter of the League of Professional Theatre Women to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment giving women the right to vote, will take place on Zoom Sept. 23 at 5 pm Eastern with an excerpt from Susan B. by Toby Armour, featuring Jenne Vath as Susan B. Anthony.

The Ridiculous Theatrical Company, The Theater at St. John's, and Yorick Theatre Company announce a very special live stream performance of Charles Ludlam's DER RING GOTT FARBLONJET, Ludlam's adaptation of Wagner's Ring Cycle called The Ring of the Nieblungen, directed by and starring theater legend Everett Quinton.

Actors Co-op (Ovation Winner 2018 Best Direction of a Musical - Intimate Theatre) is proud to present Charles Ludlam's The Mystery of Irma Vep - A Penny Dreadful, directed by Carla Cackowski, produced by Carly Lopez. This hilarious two-actor, multi-character comedic thriller is a nod to the classic Gothic melodramas and early fright flicks of the 30s and 40s. The play will run October 4 through November 10 at the Actors Co-op Crossley Theatre in Hollywood
