The Martin E. Segal Theatre Center, located at The Graduate Center, CUNY, announces its Spring 2017 season of free public programs. The season features free public programs, welcoming and celebrating contemporary theatre and performing artists from around the world.

In the Bar of a Tokyo Hotel, one of Tennessee Williams lesser known works plays for a limited run at 292 Theatre on The Lower East Side. The production was recently produced at the 2016 Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts where it played to sold-out houses. Legendary New York actor/writer/director, Everett Quinton who is best known for his work with Ridiculous Theatrical Company, directs.

This December, the acclaimed Off-Broadway Axis Theatre Company will present the 15th annual production of its beloved family holiday show, Seven in One Blow, or the Brave Little Kid. Adapted from the classic fairy tale by The Brothers Grimm, this festive, interactive winter play is written and directed by Axis Artistic Director Randy Sharp (Edgar Oliver's Attorney Street, In the Park and East 10th Street). Though the poignant tale was created for kids, the Axis production-which teases out some of the many plausible subtexts-resonates equally well for adults.

Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival (TW Festival) Curator David Kaplan said today that he was 'always proud when ongoing relationships with artists who have been part of our Festival evolve into exciting new productions for us. CHARLES BUSCH, author and star of such plays as Psycho Beach Party, Times Square Angel, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset, You Should Be So Lucky, Shanghai Moon and The Divine Sister brings his iconic Cabaret stylings to The COPA Palm Springs for two 'sure to be sell-out' performances, October 16 and 17 at 8:00 pm.   Born in New York City, he began his theatrical career shortly after graduating from Northwestern University in 1976.  After spending two years in Chicago working with different local theatre companies, he returned to his home town of New York City with a solo play called Hollywood Confidential, which he performed as a weekend late show at Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company's theatre at One Sheridan Square.

Axis Theatre will present the world premiere of The Vast Machine, a new play written and directed by Randy Sharp about the dilemmas facing the crew of a slave ship at sea in the Middle Passage. Performances will take place tonight, October 1, through October 24 at Axis Theatre (1 Sheridan Square) in the West Village.

California Shakespeare Theater continues its 2015 season with groundbreaking playwright Charles Ludlam's high-camp homage to the horror genre, The Mystery of Irma Vep. Directed by Jonathan Moscone in his final production as Cal Shakes Artistic Director, and featuring Danny Scheie and Liam Vincent, The Mystery of Irma Vep plays at the Bruns Amphitheater from tonight, August 12 through September 6.
