Writers' platform Untitled, which was founded last year, is pleased to announce the return of the salon for 2020 with their fourth event in their Writers' Salon series. Scheduled to take place on Thursday, 2 April 2020 at The Curtain Hotel in Old Street, Untitled will be welcoming ten underrepresented writers to share their work in front of a live audience.

When it comes to political theatre, one's mind does not immediately turn to Stage West Theatre Restaurant. But if there's one thing Calgarians have come to learn, it's that Stage West loves to bring all kinds of comedy to the stage to entertain their audiences. Their current production of The Outsider is one such comedy that had me in stitches but left me wanting.

This summer, the iconic TLC will close out Toronto's Festival of Beer presented by The Beer Store on the OLG Bandshell Stage. Their performance will take place on Sunday, July 26 at Bandshell Park, Exhibition Place and fans can expect to hear all the hits they know and love. The festival runs from July 24 to 26 and is a 19+ event. TFOB Sunday is presented by Flow 93.5.

With 22 Grammys and hundreds of millions in worldwide sales, the potentially fascinating story of Gloria Estefan, her husband Emilio and their journey to success with the Miami Sound Machine has the potential to be a fantastic jukebox musical. On Your Feet has plenty of material to draw upon; with an intricate journey through issues of immigration, racism and a life-threatening accident, it is a fun and frothy evening.

Texas Talent Musicians Association (TTMA) presents the Tejano Music Awards Fan Fair 2020. Set for March 12-15, 2020. (Thursday-Sunday). Thousands of Tejano Music Fans from across the country will travel to Historic Market Square in Downtown San Antonio for the Tejano Music event of the year.

TheatreZone, a professional Equity theatre in Naples, Florida specializing in Broadway musicals, announces its 2020-2021 season shows. They are: Home for the Holidays (Dec. 11-13, 2020); Curtains (Jan. 7-17, 2021); Bright Star (Feb. 4-14, 2021); Camelot (March 4-14, 2021); and The Bridges of Madison County (April 15-25, 2021).

We were lucky enough to get to speak with Chris French who plays Jonathan Harris in THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG opening at Clowes Memorial Hall February 25th. He had plenty to say about what makes this show something special and why it's a fun departure from the musicals most patrons are used to from Broadway Across America.

The last time I attended a production at Osceola Arts, the stage had been transformed into 1899 New York City for a production of Newsies. Last night, I returned to Osceola Arts, but now found myself transported thirty-two years later and over four thousand miles eastward to Germany, specifically the Kit Kat Klub of Berlin as immortalized in the 1966 musical CABARET. Although we're now ninety years removed from the Weimar Republic, CABARET still feels timely as ever. Given what regime succeeded the Weimar Republic, maybe that should not be good news. Yet that is why we need shows like CABARET: reminders that the apathy and distractions we think help us get by should actually not be our only outlet for life and livelihood. The Kit Kat Klub becomes less a physical place than it does a state of mind, one that comments upon the action of the musical, but does so without the repercussions and consequences of the narrative, at least until the bitter end.

As the hugely exciting debut edition of ALDA & Insomniac's SAGA Festival draws ever closer, the eagerly anticipated event amazed party goers even further last night, revealing star-studded lineup additions for the festival during a special SAGA launch party in Romania.

Directed by the brilliant Nat Miller and delivered with aching sensibility by Kriston Woodreaux, EVERY BRILLIANT THING is nothing but extraordinary. This heart-gripping play sparks a conversation about life, mental illness, suicide, and human connections and it gives us all a million reasons to appreciate the gift of life.

There are certainly plenty of movie-to-stage adaptations that have appeared (and continue to pop up) on Broadway, but few can boast being one of the most jubilant and unabashedly open-minded as the gloriously glam 2012 hit KINKY BOOTS, the Tony Award-winning stage musical adaptation of Geoff Deane and Tim Firth's 2005 independent cult film inspired by actual true events. The critical and audience favorite---which features memorable music from Grammy-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper and a book by Tony winner Harvey Fierstein---enjoyed a healthy run on Broadway and in several national tours that followed, spreading its genuinely heartwarming yet cheekily-delivered message of acceptance and empathy. Now back in Southern California for its flashy, beautifully remounted West Coast regional premiere for 3-D Theatricals, KINKY BOOTS---now continuing performances through March 1, 2020 at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts---is just as fun and fabulous as ever.

 SHE LOVES ME, now playing at San Diego Musical Theatre through March 8th, is a delightfully entertaining and sweet, that will have people leaving the theatre humming and that warm and fuzzy feeling of true love conquering all.
