Paul McCartney and Jack McCoy have collaborated a number of times over the past decade, and whenever they do their mutual love of the ocean is always the focus. In December 2020, McCartney released his GRAMMY-nominated McCartney III album, featuring “Slidin’”—a track he felt would be perfectly accompanied by some surfing and ocean footage.

Going “into the woods” with too much happening on campus! My November theme takes me into the woods, literally, figuratively, and theatrically. The passing of Steven Sondheim on November 26th at the age of 91 makes this blog dedication even more important to me.

Jay Leno will make a rare film appearance as Ed Sullivan in the upcoming film Midas Man. Ed Sullivan was largely responsible for introducing The Beatles to American audiences. Their first appearance on February 9 1964 was viewed by a record-breaking 73 million viewers, now viewed as a watershed that helped lead to 'Beatlemania' in America.

Sometimes advertising and catch phrases become outdated and are not reflective of the current environment.  Not so with “The Jazz Corner Of The World”.  Birdland is still the rightful possessor of that Charlie Parker quote, and one need have only been in the audience Saturday night to hear Jazz great Alan Broadbent and his trio to understand the legitimacy of that nickname. 

Influenced by Bauhaus and Sister Of Mercy, Bliss My Heart sent Eric Jayk an 8 year old demo of 'Drive Fast” in July immediately following the release of 'Reason To Dust'. After the two completed the track in September, the music video was released in October. Watch the new visual for the single now!

Multi-award-winning UK classical singer and stage star Russell Watson will take on the role of 'Billy Flynn' in the acclaimed UK and Ireland tour of the international musical sensation CHICAGO. Russell joins the previously announced Faye Brookes as 'Roxie Hart' and Djalenga Scott as 'Velma Kelly', opening at Liverpool Empire on Monday 7 February 2022.
