Drama Desk Award winner Michael Urie (Buyer and Cellar, 'Ugly Betty') will serve as host of the 61st Annual Drama Desk Awards tonight, June 5, 2016 at 8:00 PM at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street).

Ghostlight Records has released the original cast recording of Bright Star, the new musical from Grammy and Emmy Award winner Steve Martin and Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Edie Brickell online and in stores today, Friday, May 27.

On Monday, May 23 the Theater People podcast welcomes Krysta Rodriguez, Andy Mientus, and Alex Boniello. The three sit down to discuss the Tony nominated Deaf West Theater production of SPRING AWAKENING in which they all starred. Topic discussed include how they each came to the production, the unique and exciting challenges of working in a Deaf West production, and how it feels for their show to have been nominated for a Tony Award.

The 2016 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 18 categories, with two special awards and two honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted byZachary Levi, star of Broadway's She Loves Me. This year's event was once again a benefit for The Actors Fund. The Broadway at Birdland concert series was thrilled to present Tony-nominated composer Jeff Blumenkrantz, who was joined by his Bright Star cast mates to perform an evening of his original songs. Scroll down for photos from the concert!

Steve Martin and Edie Brickell introduced the cast of their new musical BRIGHT STAR, who gave a live performance of a number from the show, 'Whoa Mama,' led by Carmen Cusack and Paul Alexander Nolan.

Broadway's 40 theatres aren't the only places to catch performances from your favorite stars! Carmen Cusack, who currently stars in Steve Martin and Edie Brickell's new hit musical on Broadway, Bright Star, sang the National Anthem earlier today at the New York Yankee's Opening Day. Scroll down for photos of her on the field!

With direction by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie and choreography by Josh Rhodes, Bright Star began performances on Thursday, February 25th, 2016 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street), and opened last Thursday, March 24th, 2016. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the whole evening, starting with the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony.
