The new musical AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, based on the Oscar-winning film and original screenplay by Douglas Day Stewart, is now on a multi-season tour that will visit more than 50 cities in the 2021-2022 season. 

PNC Broadway in Kansas City will present the engagement of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN. Based on the Oscar-winning film, this production will take the Kauffman Center stage April 12–17, 2022.

The Hangar Theatre has announced the first ever Hangar Flight Test, a series of concert stagings of original musicals in development.  The 2022 series will consist of two workshop productions which Hangar audiences will be among the first to experience.  Writers and artistic teams will invite audiences to give feedback and become part of the development process as they prepare their scripts and scores for full scale production.

Revered Austin, TX singer-songwriter Darden Smith has shared the official music video for “Miles Between.' The song was co-written with country star Jack Ingram, who recently welcomed Smith on The Jackin’ Around Show which is now available to watch/stream today.

The American Theatre Guild will present the Colorado Springs engagement of AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN: First National Tour. This production is part of the BROADWAY IS BACK AT PIKES PEAK CENTER SERIES and will take the stage March 2-3, 2022.

Lisa Stephen Friday could have presented the eight semi-autobiographical songs she worked up with her band Lisa Jackson & Girl Friday, just as she once did at a series of Lower East Side clubs in the 90s.

Today’s subject Lisa Stephen Friday has a remarkable story to tell as she is currently living her theatre life as the writer and performer of Trans Am. The show begins performances at Keegan Theatre on January 29th and will run through February 26th.

The show opened on January 22 and will run through February 27, 2022.

The year 1985, the setting Fair Verona where we lay our scene. Over the years Romeo & Juliet has been translated, interpreted and conceived in many different forms and fashion. Outside of literature none more so than that of film and stage. Diverting back to literature briefly, Romeo & Juliet was first translated into English in 1562 as a poem entitled The Tragic History of Romeus and Juliet by Arthur Brooke.
