Oginalii's Debut LP CAUSE & AFFECTION Out Today
by Tori Hartshorn - Apr 5, 2019

Cause & Affection, the debut full-length melodic shredfest from Nashville's Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) produced by All Them Witches' Ben McLeod, is available everywhere today. From shining a spotlight of frustration on the treatment of women in the music industry to championing freedom of choice and issuing a widespread call for empathy, this band has something to say, and they aren't afraid to say it. Their sound cuts through the noise of today's musical landscape and their message is of the moment. 'The record is about growing up, losing yourself, finding yourself again, and wishing you were elsewhere--all while learning to love who you're looking at in the mirror and understanding that the greatest gift we have as humans is empathy,” explains frontwoman Emma Hoeflinger.

Audiofemme Unveils New Oginalii Track LIGHT AS A FEATHER, Plus SXSW and Album Release
by Tori Hartshorn - Mar 8, 2019

Nashville's Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) have unleashed “Light As A Feather,” the fourth single from their forthcoming debut LP Cause and Affection. “With a ticking clock as an opening harbinger, Guitarist Emma Hoeflinger's voice twists and turns throughout the song like gnarled trees in oncoming headlights,” says Audiofemme in their premiere of the track. “Bandmates Ryan Quarles (guitar), Simon Knudtson (drums), and Emma Lambiase (bass) attack from all angles, creating a call and response between the music and lyrics.” Light As A Feather  channels both anxious energy and childhood mythos as it explores the idea of coping with stress and anxiety in a healthy way.

Oginalii Unveils Acoustic Sessions Ahead Of Debut Album Release
by Tori Hartshorn - Feb 15, 2019

Yesterday, Nashville's Oginalii (pronounced 'oh-gan-ALL-ee' and which translates to 'my friend' in Cherokee) garnered some hometown acclaim with the release of an OOKO Studio Live Session featuring acoustic versions of 'No Littering' and 'Static,' two tracks housed on their forthincoming debut Cause and Affection, out April 5th. No Country For Nashville, which premiered the sessions, says that the songs channel 'the more intimate vibe of the group's acoustic beginnings (before they reappear on the album in all of their electric, face-melting glory). In their deconstructed format, the songs really showcase [Emma] Hoeflinger's powerful and earnest vocal delivery, and expert ability to craft nuanced and layered tunes at their core, weaving between genre conventions and building to soaring, gut-punching sonic highs.'

It's been three years in the making, but Australian indie-rock luminaries Little May have announced their highly-anticipated second album, Blame My Body (out May 3 via Dew Process / Universal Music Australia), along with a fiery new single, 'Apples.' Consequence of Sound premiered it Tuesday and said 'Glimmering, catchy guitars serve as a contrast to singer Liz Drummond's melancholy musings, as Little May combine bits of '90s alternative rock (think Liz Phair, Smashing Pumpkins) with more modern-day fuzzy dream pop (a lá Warpaint, Dum Dum Girls).'
