Fairfield Center Stage along with partner Fairfield Museum & History Center will present an outdoor musical production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC in downtown Fairfield this June. The show runs one weekend only: June 24-26, 2021 at Fairfield Museum Commons at 370 Beach Rd behind Old Town Hall.

Francis van Broekhuizen krijgt de rol van moeder-overste in de musical The Sound of Music. Producent Stage Entertainment brengt de musicalklassieker in een nieuwe, energieke en eigentijdse versie die vanaf 16 juni 2021 te zien is in het AFAS Circustheater Scheveningen. Hierna zal de voorstelling doorreizen langs de grote theaters in Nederland. De voorstelling kan – mocht dat in juni nodig zijn – coronaproof met een beperkte zaalbezetting spelen. De kaartverkoop voor The Sound of Music is vandaag gestart.

When Des Moines Playhouse closed their production of 'Singin' in the Rain' last year, no one could have imagined what would follow. A year without a musical performance on the stage. This meant that the big productions they had planned for Summer, Fall, and Winter had to be canceled. That changed on Friday, April 9, when they opened their spring production of 'Some Enchanted Evening: The Songs of Rodgers and Hammerstein.'

Des Moines Playhouse Presents SOME ENCHANTED EVENING and THE VELVETEEN RABBIT

The Des Moines Playhouse will continue to present live theatre with two shows this spring, Some Enchanted Evening – The Songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein, Apr. 9-May 9, 2021, and, for families, The Velveteen Rabbit, Apr. 16-May 2, 2021. In-person performances will be presented in repertory, alternating shows by the week, in the John Viars Theatre.
New London Barn Playhouse Announces 2021 Summer Season

The New London Barn Playhouse has announced its plans for the 2021 summer season when we proudly welcome back a live audience for a 'Summer Under the Stars.' The never-been-done-before season, starting June 29th, will take place under an open-air tent in Ivey Field on the campus of Colby-Sawyer College.

When I was about 7, I saw the West Side Story movie for the first time, and I loved it. I memorized the entire script, snapped my way around the school yard during recess, you know, normal kid stuff. Even then, I remember thinking “hey, this Sondheim guy is pretty cool”.

Auditions for the musical revue Some Enchanted Evening will be held virtually with an audition video submission deadline of 6:00 PM, Monday, Feb. 15, 2021. All auditions are open to the public; no one is pre-cast. Callbacks will be in person at the theatre by appointment only, Feb. 16-17, 2021.
