North Carolina Theatre to Cease Operations in May After Four Decades

North Carolina Theatre, Raleigh’s leading professional musical theatre company, will shut down operations in May 2024 following a bankruptcy filing and suspended productions. The company has been headquartered at the Martin Marietta Performing Arts Center in downtown Raleigh.

Casa Mañana closes its 2024-25 Children's Theatre season with The Little Mermaid Jr., presented by Happy State Bank and sponsored by Frank Kent Cadillac. The show runs March 22 to April 13 and is suitable for all audiences. Tickets are on sale now.

Westport Country Playhouse Stages Romantic Comedy THEATRE PEOPLE

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the romantic comedy, “Theatre People,” from March 25 through April 12. Filled with romance, misunderstandings, and surprises, the plot focuses on a married playwright couple who are trying to concoct a surefire Broadway hit but create as much drama among themselves as on paper.

Meet a Marketer: Megan Clark, Marketing Manager, Theatre Raleigh

Megan Clark is a Western North Carolina native who graduated from William Peace University with a degree in Arts Administration. Her vast arts experience includes working as a freelance stage manager for multiple theatre companies across NC, including Foothills Performing Arts where she holds the title as the youngest recipient of the Doug Carter Award for Overall Promotion of Performing Arts. Megan's additional experience includes working as a Costuming intern at Walt Disney World, and as the Booking Coordinator at Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts. With Theatre Raleigh, Megan began as an intern while still in school, and now holds the position of Marketing Manager.

CINDERELLA Opens Casa Mañana's Children's Theatre Season

Casa Mañana will open its 2024-25 Children’s Theatre season with Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella: Youth Edition. The show runs October 11-27 and is suitable for all audiences. Tickets are on sale now. 

Aisha Jackson Will Join THE NOTEBOOK as Middle Allie

The Notebook on Broadway will welcome Aisha Jackson to the Broadway company in the role of “Middle Allie” beginning Tuesday, October 22, at the Schoenfeld Theatre. Original Chicago and Broadway cast member Joy Woods will play her final performance on Sunday, October 20.

Review: CLUE National Tour at Durham Performing Arts Center

Based on Jonathan Lynn’s 1985 film adaptation of Hasbro’s popular board game of the same name, six guests have been invited to attend a mystery get-together at a large, somewhat secluded mansion. Upon arrival, each guest is provided an alias, situates in the house, and is given a deadly weapon.
