Next week, 54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club and 2022 Tony Awards Honoree for Excellence in the Theatre, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz, and beyond. 54 Below celebrates Broadway musicals and writers of the past and present, promoting an ongoing engagement with their work. 

On Monday, July 24th at 7:00 PM, an evening of music titled JERRY ORBACH'S BROADWAY will be presented at 54 Below to honor the beloved performer.

Producer Eric Krebs and Michael Roberts will present industry presentations of “The Days Beyond Today,” a new musical with book, music, and lyrics by Michael Roberts (Golf: The Musical, Goldstein), directed by Mr. Krebs.

On Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 PM, an evening of music titled BERNSTEIN ON BROADWAY: A CELEBRATION will be presented at 54 Below, 254 West 54th Street, NYC 10019 to honor Leonard Bernstein, the renowned conductor, pianist, music educator, author, and genius composer of the Broadway musicals On The Town, Wonderful Town, Candide, West Side Story, and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. 

Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn, with book and lyrics by Mark Saltzman, music adapted from classic Italian melodies, directed and choreographed by Justin Ross Cohen announced the unexpected closing of the show due to a COVID outbreak within the company.

Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn is now running off-Broadway. We chatted with Nikita Burshteyn about his experience originating the role of Romeo, his favorite memories working on the show, and much more!

The show announced a five-week extension of the critically-acclaimed hit Off-Broadway production of Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn.

Sonia Manzano, who portrayed ‘Maria’ on “Sesame Street” from 1971-2015 attended the matinee performance yesterday (Sunday, 5/22) of ROMEO & BERNADETTE.  She and Mark Saltzman, the book & lyric writer of the show, worked together on the show for many years.

When portraying a comedian in a play, sometimes getting the laugh is not the point.
