Billy Porter enlists the help of a family historian and genealogist to learn the truth behind the murder of his great-grandfather. Billy’s research takes him through conflicting accounts of what happened, before he discovers a local African-American newspaper that reveals the shocking truth of his grandfather’s death and the uproar that followed.

Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.

A League of Their Own evokes the spirit of Penny Marshall's classic, while taking a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it.
