After a sold-out show this month at the Highline Ballroom, the 11th installment of the BROADWAY SINGS concert series will repeat its performance of Broadway Sings Whitney Houston. A cast of 15 Broadway stars will sing completely new arrangements of the legendary diva's greatest hits, accompanied by a 14-piece orchestra playing original orchestrations.
Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, the Award Winning writers of Invisible Thread (Second Stage and ART) will present a workshop of their new musical THE FAMILY PROJECT in May. The new piece was written as a commission for Los Angeles Center Theater Group.

The 9:30 PM concert, helmed by director Max Friedman, features guest vocalists Gerard Canonico (Spring Awakening, American Idiot), Nicholas Christopher (Motown The Musical, Lazarus), Matt Doyle (The Book of Mormon, Spring Awakening), Tony Award Nominee Bryce Pinkham (Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, The Heidi Chronicles), Alysha Umphress (On The Town, American Idiot), and more TBA. Friedman and Rosen co-produce the series.

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) and TodayTix, the theater ticket app, announced today a CheapTix mobile lottery for Lazarus by David Bowie and Enda Walsh (Once, Tony Award), BroadwayWorld has learned. To increase access to tickets, this TodayTix program will replace the previously announced in-person lottery and will offer $25 tickets to the fastest selling show in NYTW history.
Due to unprecedented demand, New York Theatre Workshop has announced a final extension of three additional performances for LAZARUS by David Bowie and Enda Walsh (Once, Tony Award), BroadwayWorld has confirmed. The fastest selling show in NYTW history, LAZARUS is inspired by the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth by Walter Tevis and directed by Ivo van Hove (Hedda Gabler, More Stately Mansions,Obie Awards). LAZARUS began previews on November 18 and officially opens tonight, December 7, 2015 at New York Theatre Workshop (79 E. 4th Street New York, NY 10003). The additional performances will be: Monday, January 18 at 8PM, Tuesday, January 19 at 8PM, and Wednesday January 20 at 8PM.
Tickets for LAZARUS, the second production of the New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) (Artistic Director James C. Nicola and Managing Director Jeremy Blocker) 2015/16 Season, will go on sale today beginning at 12pm EST. Single tickets for LAZARUS are $95. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Second Stage Theatre's production of DICK SCANLAN and SHERIE RENE SCOTT'S play, WHORL INSIDE A LOOP, has been extended one week and will now play through Sunday, September 27th. The production is co-directed by Michael Mayer and Mr. Scanlan, the creative team behind the Tony-nominated, critically acclaimed hit, Everyday Rapture, which had its world premiere at Second Stage Theatre in 2009.
