The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre is proud to announce SPRINGBOARD, a ground-breaking, free two-year training programme that aims to find, shape, inspire, champion and sustain the next generation of performers from underrepresented backgrounds.
Submissions are open to writers from all stages in their career and who are currently living in the UK. The Lyric especially encourages writers who live and work in West London and from people who are currently underrepresented in the UK theatre industry including people from ethnically diverse backgrounds, who are d/Deaf or disabled, who are non-binary, LGBTQIA+, who have caring responsibilities.
The programme provides one-week of free space in the Lyric Studio, advice sessions with the Lyric team (covering areas including artistic, producing, fundraising, technical, production management or marketing), technical support and access to office resources such as printing, scanning and desk space including computer access.
Full casting and creative team is announced today for Heart of Hammersmith, the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre's first large-scale community play celebrating true stories of West London with a cast of over 40 local people, aged from 11–88 years, running in the Main House from Thursday 12 to Saturday 14 August.
Four new trustees will also be joining the Lyric's Board bringing new talent and skills to the existing Board chaired by Lisa Burger; Rondette Amoy Smith, Lameya Chaudhury, Professor Farah Kerim-Cooper and Derek Richards.
