Following a rigorous selection process, Theater J will participate in a significant nation-wide program, the Single Ticket Theater Collective, launched by Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theater, and TRG Arts, an industry pioneer and leader in data-driven consulting for arts and cultural professionals. During the five-month initiative, Theater J and nine other theaters from across the country will collaborate on single ticket campaign plans, classroom-style shared learning, and one-on-one consulting with the goal of maximizing single ticket revenue and deepening patron loyalty.
National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment's second major fundraising announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to New Repertory Theatre for the Classic Repertory Company. Art Works is the Arts Endowment's principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,592 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 977 grants in this category.

RUTH, Mark St. Germain's (FREUD'S LAST SESSION) biographical comedy that tells you everything you didn't even know you wanted to know about Dr. Ruth, but were glad the playwright asked. Set in her Washington Heights, NY, apartment with a panoramic view overlooking the Hudson River, the play introduces us to the 69-year old Westheimer in the throes of moving after thirty years in the location. Surrounded by an array of boxes and clutter, the conceit provides a plethora of talking points as she unearths items that serve as important markers in her life story. Anne O'Sullivan reaches through the fourth wall to grab our attention with warmth and Ruth's indomitable joie de vivre.
