The NEW JERSEY ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to for its seventh year, beginning a new and exciting partnership with Mile Square Theatre. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by over 30 of New Jersey's established and emerging playwrights and directors plays three performances only, Saturday, June 24th at 8pm, and Sunday, June 25th at 3pm & 7pm, 1400 Clinton St, Hoboken, NJ 07030. So, here's the thing: We're up far earlier every morning than we'd actually choose to be, given the choice, and today we were lost in slumber, having a really terrific and very intriguing dream - I was in Louisville with my best pal Patrick Wilson.

Bergen County Players (BCP) concludes its 84th season with a staged reading of Standing on Ceremony: The Gay Marriage Plays. Conceived by BCP alum Brian Shnipper and directed by Mark Rinis, this anthology of monologues and short plays began as a series of benefit events in Los Angeles, taking on a life of their own as an inspiring theatrical evening. The show will only run two nights, June 10 and 11 at the Little Firehouse Theatre, 298 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bcplayers.org, by calling 201-261-4200 or by visiting the box office during regular box office hours. 

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Elephant Run District will present the World Premiere of Chris Harcum's Martin Denton, Martin Denton, directed by Aimee Todoroff, July 6-23 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances Thursday through Saturday at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets ($25/$20 students & seniors) may be purchased in advance at www.horseTRADE.info. The performance will run approximately 90 minutes, with no intermission. 

GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! It's Wednesday, May 24, 2017! How do we know this, you might ask? Well, we spent last evening at TPAC'S Andrew Jackson Hall, soaking up every possible bit of Carole King: The Beautiful Musical - wait, it's the other way around - Beautiful: The Carole King Musical and despite the earworm known as 'One Fine Day,' we are still floating on the inspiration and memories of opening night.

Erik Ehn's Quiet House directed by Glory Kadigan premieres June 23 at the 2017 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity (The Festivity runs June 12 - July 9 at The Clemente, 107 Suffolk Street, NYC).

Down in the right-hand corner of my computer screen, it tells me that its Friday, May 19 - which means that Memorial Day Weekend is just a week away! - how in the world did we make it from New Year's Day to Memorial Day in what seems to me to be like 15 minutes? When you figure that out, please give me a heads-up so I can better prepare for Christmas shopping! And that, of course, has me wondering what shows we'll be seeing during the next holiday season which, in turn, prompts me to ask the musical question: What's your favorite Christmas or holiday-themed stage offering?

The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

The Geffen Playhouse today announced the addition of Glen Berger's critically acclaimed play Underneath the Lintel, completing its 2017/2018 season lineup.

Recent Belmont University graduate Sam Lowry directs the first show of Woven Theatre's second season - Neil LaBute's Reasons to Be Pretty - opening Thursday night, May 18, at Belmont's Little Theatre, and continuing through May 27.

Manhattan Theatre Club's New York premiere of Cost of Living, the new play by Martyna Majok (Ironbound, Mouse in a Jar), directed by Jo Bonney (Father Comes Home from the Wars; By the Way, Meet Vera Stark), begins performances tonight, Tuesday May 16, at MTC at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street).

After a nationwide search, the Arizona Theatre Company (ATC) board of directors has named David Ivers, most recently the artistic director at Utah Shakespeare Festival, as ATC's new Artistic Director. Ivers will begin his new role on July 1.
