CMT Greenlights Seven New Series; Renews Favorites

CMT has greenlit production on seven, new unscripted series for 2014, the most the network has ever had in production at one time, it was announced today by Jayson Dinsmore, EVP, Programming and Development, CMT.

Cincinnati Playhouse's Off the Hill Series Continues with JOAN THE GIRL OF ARC Premiere, 1/17-2/22

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's Off the Hill series for families continues in January with the world premiere of JOAN THE GIRL OF ARC, which will tour to community venues throughout the Tristate from Jan. 17 through Feb. 22. Recommended for ages 11 and up, this inspiring play offers a new perspective on the classic story of the young woman who helped save France.

Tickets to MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET's Run at Moran Theater on Sale Tomorrow

The national tour of the Broadway musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, inspired by the electrifying true story, will perform at Jacksonville's Times-Union Center's Moran Theater from April 22-27, 2014 for 8 performances only! Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, December 13th at 10AM through the Artist Series, the official presenter of Broadway in Jacksonville.

Wide Selection of Theater Groups Represented in Vermont Award Nominations

Broadway veterans Heidi Blickenstaff and Aaron Ramey, and Emmy Award Winner and Tony Nominee Gordon Clapp are among this year's Vermont BroadwayWorld Award nominees. Shows from a large cross-section of professional, semi-professional, and community theater groups are also represented in the 2012-2013 nominations. BWW Reviews: A Million Reasons to Love MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET at The McCallum Theatre

The McCallum Theatre has given the Coachella Valley another reason to be thankful this holiday weekend by presenting the stellar national tour of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET through December 1. As anyone who has read my previous reviews knows, I am a big fan of Mitch Gershenfeld and The McCallum Theatre for its ever-marvelous slate of offerings to the desert theatre-going community, and this production is no exception. I wish I had a million superlatives to equal the high caliber production that opened last evening for a "too-limited engagement".

HO HO HO! to Open 11/29 at Columbia Children's Theatrre

Father Christmas is just not feeling it this year. Can Mrs. Claus, the Elves and the audience help Santa get his groove back? Find out as Columbia Children's Theatre (CCT), the Midlands only professional theatre for families and young audiences presents the uproarious holiday comedy, Ho Ho Ho! November 29 - December 8. Show times are Fridays at 7:00 p.m.; Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:00 p.m.; and Sundays at 3:00 p.m. The Saturday, December 9th 10:30 a.m. show will also feature Breakfast with Santa in partnership with the Richland County Department of Parks and Recreation.

Val Kilmer to Star in CITIZEN TWAIN at Laguna Playhouse, 11/21-14

The Laguna Playhouse Executive and Artistic Directors Karen Wood and Ann E. Wareham present a special event, Val Kilmer starring in CITIZEN TWAIN, for a five-show limited engagement. Val Kilmer, famous for his portrayals of iconic characters such as Jim Morrison (The Doors), Doc Holliday (Tombstone) and Batman (Batman Forever), inhabits the spirit of yet another legendary figure: Mark Twain. "We are thrilled to bring this extraordinary production to our audiences in Laguna Beach," offers Wood. Wareham adds, "Val Kilmer brings to remarkable life one of the greatest legends of all time and we are honored to have him here." CITIZEN TWAIN will perform five performances only beginning on Thursday, November 21 and run through Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach.

British Stage and Screen Actor Nigel Davenport Passes Away

Variety reports that British film, television and stage actor Nigel Davenport died on October 25. The actor, best known for his roles in the films A Man for All Seasons and Chariots of Fire, was 85.
