This winter, Trinity Church Wall Street's  program of ambitious musical offerings in lower Manhattan sees the return of the audience favorite Bach + One concert series, which will crown its season in the spring with a performance of three of Bach's cantatas at the Leipzig Bach Festival. Director of Music Julian Wachner has also just been announced as one of three finalists to become the next Artistic Director of the storied Oregon Bach Festival. On the heels of last August's release of Ellen Reid's Pulitzer Prize-winning opera p r i s m on the Decca Gold label, with Wachner leading The Choir of Trinity Wall Street and Trinity's in-house contemporary orchestra, NOVUS NY, the same forces reunite for the Washington D.C. premiere of the opera in the Kennedy Center's DIRECT CURRENT festival.

Opera Atelier announces its iconic 35th Anniversary Season with two groundbreaking works at the historic Elgin Theatre: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute, considered the company's most successful production in its history, on stage from October 22a?"November 1, 2020; and The Angel Speaks a?" a new Canadian commission a?" double-billed with Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas from February 20a?"27, 2021. Both productions will feature the full corps of Artists of Atelier Ballet with choreography by Jeannette Lajeunesse Zingg C.M., stage direction by Marshall Pynkoski C.M., and the renowned Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra led by Music Director Elisa Citterio under the baton of Opera Atelier Music Director David Fallis.

On Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Jill Newhouse Gallery on the Upper East Side, artists of color will engage in a special talk about European art for the tenth annual Master Drawings New York. Conceived by Savona Bailey-McClain and Jill Newhouse, this event hopes to diversify the conversation about art and bridge time periods, artists and audiences in this 21st century.

This is the first time Opera Atelier's acclaimed production has been remounted for Toronto audiences since its 2011 premiere. Don Giovanni features Douglas Williams as Don Giovanni, Colin Ainsworth as Don Ottavio, Gustav Andreassen as the Commendatore, Mireille Asselin as Zerlina, Stephen Hegedus as Leporello, Carla Huhtanen as Donna Elvira, Olivier Laquerre as Masetto, and Meghan Lindsay as Donna Anna.

AVA is pleased to welcome six new Resident Artists to the opera academy. The incoming class of Resident Artists includes Emily Margevich (soprano), Cody Muller (bass), Zachary Rioux (tenor), Sahel Salam (tenor), Anne Marie Stanley (mezzo-soprano) and Griffen Hogan Tracy (bass). These singers come from across the country, from Philadelphia and Colorado, to Chicago and Princeton, as well as New Brunswick, Canada.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount animation is in the early stages of a Spice Girls film. All five members of the group Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham are on board.

With only two more ballets left in its 2018/19 season, Houston Ballet brings back Ronald Hynd's The Merry Widow. This full-length story ballet is a romantic comedy Houston hasn't seen since 2013, when Principal Mireille Hassenboehler took her final bows with Houston Ballet.

MIREILLE FAVAREL, currently on the artistic staff of the Milwaukee Ballet and former principal dancer of the Milwaukee Ballet will be a member of the faculty for the Brandywine Ballet's Summer Intensive which will be held in West Chester, Pennsylvania from June 24-28, 2019.

Amazon has renewed 'Hanna' for a second season, according to Variety. The series debuted on March 29 and is based on the 2011 film of the same name.
