NewYorkRep will present a special one-night-only benefit reading of Spare Rib, a new play by Winter Miller, Monday, October 24 at New World Stages. Proceeds from the special event will benefit WRRAP, the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project.

Disney+ revealed the official video trailer for “Limitless with Chris Hemsworth” from National Geographic. In the six-part documentary series, movie star Chris Hemsworth (“Extraction,” “Thor,” “The Avengers”) takes viewers on a rollercoaster personal journey as he explores how to combat aging and discover the full potential of the human body.

Portland Center Stage and Boom Arts are partnering on their first co-production, Kristina Wong’s witty, tour-de-force look at the early days of the pandemic, Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord. The play begins preview performances on November 5, opens on November 11, and runs through December 18 in the Ellyn Bye Studio at The Armory.

Goodspeed Musicals has released production photos for the blockbuster tap dancing extravaganza 42nd Street.  The toe-tapping crowd-pleaser runs from Sept. 16 – Nov. 6 at The Goodspeed in East Haddam, Conn.

The film also stars Emmy winner John Leguizamo (John Wick), Cam Gigandet (Without Remorse), Alex Hassell (Cowboy Bebop), Alexis Louder (The Tomorrow War), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones) and Beverly D’Angelo (National Lampoon’s Vacation franchise). Watch the new video trailer now!

Rayland Baxter has released his new single “Rubberband Man,” off his forthcoming album, If I Were A Butterfly out November 4th on ATO. The track is an ode to Thunder Sound, where Baxter recorded the majority of his new album. Originally a rubber band factory, the Kentucky recording studio still has remnants of its former life.

Internationally renowned artist William Kentridge will speak in Milwaukee and participate in open rehearsals of three plays during the Warehouse Art Museum's (WAM) multimedia “Kentridge Arts Festival.”

After a successful run with Kervigo Ensemble Theater in October of 2021, My Shiksa Boyfriend, directed by Christine Cirker, returns to the New York City stage! Written and performed by Arielle Beth Klein, this solo play will be going up Off Broadway at Theater Row on October 23rd at 7pm the United Solo Theater Festival.

The Yard Theatre has announced a new leadership team.  Deputy Artistic Director, Anthony Simpson-Pike has been appointed new Deputy Artistic Director, and Ashleigh Wheeler as new Executive Director.

London’s newest performing arts venue, Marylebone Theatre, has launched with a world premiere directed by Tim Supple.  Marylebone Theatre, near Baker Street, intends to carve out a special place on the London cultural scene as a beautiful and grand but intimate setting offering cross-arts programming with theatre, music, dance and spoken word.

On The Spot, the now 7-year-running improvised musical comedy show, is turning Monday night into an institution at the Broadway Comedy Club, and this month is partnering with Gabi Shook (Bullets over Broadway and Beauty and the Beast at The Barn Theatre) to create a night of spontaneous theatre like no other.

She was a straight-A student in Catholic school, and a participant in Lithuanian community activities. She also hung out with the 'bad boys' (and girls), sniffing glue, smoking pot and guzzling alcohol. 

Dmitry, a new play, is described as 'After Schiller', but, in its dissection of the ruthless manipulation of a young man aiming for the Tsardom of Russia, one finds parallels more recent blockbusters.
