Next Act Theatre Hires Kerri Kilbourne As Managing Director

Next Act Theatre announced today that Kerri Kilbourne has been hired as its new Managing Director. Kilbourne was hired after a two-month national search and will assume the role on Wednesday, February 23, 2023. She is the first person in the position of Managing Director at Next Act Theatre since 2014.

Innominate is an experimental, devised, dance-theater performance created, directed, and designed by acclaimed local multidisciplinary artist Afsaneh Aayani. Dually inspired by Pablo Picasso's painting Guernica and Iran's Green Revolution, Innominate combines puppetry, live original music, mixed media, and movement to create a surreal journey through Aayani's personal experience as an immigrant from war-torn Iran.

Northern Light Theatre returns in 2021/2022 with three premieres of plays by Edmonton and American playwrights, all directed by Artistic Director Trevor Schmidt, including his own new musical in collaboration with Kaeley Jade Wiebe. The season is titled Burning It Down. Admitting Defeat. And Starting Over. - three meditations on existentialism, artistry, failure, and resilience of the human spirit to recover and try again.
