California's greatest export and renowned feminist supporters Steel Panther recently took a break from working with NASA scientists on a multiple orgasm inducing guitar pedal to record their fifth studio album. The band is excited to announce that their new album Heavy Metal Rules is finished and scheduled for release on September 27th. The album showcases the band's musical and lyrical growth and is destined to become an instant classic in the band's impressive catalog. The philanthropic foursome comprised of Michael Starr on vocals, Satchel on guitars, Lexxi Foxx on bass and Stix Zadinia have created the heavy metal version of a self-help manual and ultimate party album combined.

Adapted from the 1952 movie of the same name which starred Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor, Debbie Reynolds and Jean Hagen, the plot closely adheres to the original story set in 1920s Hollywood during the waning days of the Silent Screen era, focusing on romantic leading man, Don Lockwood, his tap dancing sidekick Cosmo Brown, aspiring actress Kathy Selden, and Lockwood's platinum blonde leading lady Lina Lamont, whose less-than-dulcet vocal tones make her an unlikely candidate for stardom in the new talking pictures.

Having seen the musical HAMILTON when it was in Los Angeles, like many others I learned more important details about the founding fathers while watching it than I felt I had ever learned in school. Lin-Manuel Miranda who created that uber-successful musical in 2015, has said that 1776 THE MUSICAL, written in 1969, during another time of political and social unrest in the United States, has 'one of the best books-if not the best-ever written for musical theatre.' And now I can say I certainly agree with him. California rock and party legends Steel Panther have survived a career of living  a decadent lifestyle surrounded by loud music, fast cars and beautiful women. That lifestyle of debauchery and proclivity towards random sexual encounters has finally caught up with the band's bassist. Lexxi Foxx has voluntarily checked himself in to an undisclosed sex rehab. He will have to miss the current US tour that recently kicked off in Chicago. The band's friend of over 30 years and backstage doorman Spyder will be filling in on bass for the upcoming tour dates. California rock and party legends Steel Panther are bringing their celebrated live show into 2019 with the Heavy Metal Mardi Gras tour. The new dates kick off March 1st in Jacksonville, FL and will currently run through March 8th with more dates to be announced in the near future. The new tour heads in to the South and will make stops in Birmingham, AL; New Orleans, LA; and Nashville, TN among others. Fellow party animals Wilson, who have toured with Steel Panther in the past, will return as special guests for these new dates. Get a first look at 3D Theatricals' 42ND STREET's opening night. The bygone era of theatre will feel hauntingly real and magical. This new production will combine the Ziegfeld Follies golden age of MGM musicals, Busby Berkeley dance numbers and the spice of Chicago to entrance and amaze audiences of all ages.

Somewhere between its opening of SWEET CHARITY in late June and the end of July, Reprise 2.0 postponed its second scheduled production of its inaugural season, VICTOR/VICTORIA. In its place, the company has mounted a revival of Kander & Ebb's musical revue, THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND, and, while it isn't a rarely revived book musical, which has always been Reprise's focus in the past, it does contain a score derived from some of the best songs in the classic Kander & Ebb catalogue (think CHICAGO and CABARET).

Following Reprise's successful re-launch (as the newly christened REPRISE 2.0) with a crowd-pleasing SWEET CHARITY, REPRISE 2.0 mounts THE WORLD GOES 'ROUND on the Freud Playhouse boards beginning September 5, 2018. We had the chance to chat with one of WORLD's talented cast members, theatre vet Valerie Perri on being back with Reprise, while hitting highlights of her extensive theatrical career.
