BroadwayWorld was saddened to report that Broadway veteran Merwin Foard recently passed away at 59 years old. Born September 16, 1960 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, Foard was last seen on Broadway in Aladdin as a standby for Jafar/Sultan.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts will soon presents the Broadway Center Stage production of Footloose. The cast is led by J. Quinton Johnson (Choir Boy, Hamilton, Broadway Center Stage: In the Heights) as Ren McCormack, Judy Kuhn (Fun Home, Les Misérables) as Ethel McCormack, Isabelle McCalla (The Prom, Aladdin) as Ariel Moore, Michael Park (Dear Evan Hansen) as Reverend Shaw Moore, and three-time Tony Award nominee Rebecca Luker as Vi Moore (Mary Poppins, the Kennedy Center's Little Dancer). Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) has just announced that Nick Choksi as 'Dr. Grover Lockwood,' Holley Fain as 'Anita Highland,' Richard Kind as 'Max Jacobs,' Michael Mulheren as 'Conductor,' and Raji Ahsan, Franklin Bongjio, Daniel Fredrick and Evan Powell as the 'Porters' have joined the one-night-only benefit reading of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's comedy Twentieth Century, in a new adaptation by Ken Ludwig, directed by Walter Bobbie. They join the previously announced Alec Baldwin as 'Oscar Jaffe,' Anne Heche as 'Lily Garland,' Henry Winkler as 'Matthew Clark,' Dan Butler as 'Owen O'Malley,' Stephen DeRosa as 'First Beard,' Julie Halston as 'Ida Webb,' and Paul Alexander Nolan as 'George Smith.'
