The West Wing's Melissa Fitzgerald, Broadway actor Heath Saunders, Emery Battis Award-winner Victoria Frings and Ken Clark, currently playing King Arthur in Camelot at STC, recently joined Members of Congress and notable Washingtonians onto the stage at Sidney Harman Hall to perform in Will on the Hill. Now in its sixteenth year, the much-loved bipartisan event took place on June 11 and raised $500,000 for the theatre's education and community outreach programs.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, whose hit production of Camelot has extended through July 8 due to popular demand, the production will run at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from August 21-September 2, providing more than 12,000 people the chance to see the play free of charge.

Corkscrew Theater Festival presents the world premiere of The End of Mermaids, written by Anya Richkind and directed by Allison Benko. Running July 12-22, The End of Mermaids is a sinister comedy about a group of women striving to achieve true beauty through their performances at a failing mermaid theme park, while under siege from an impatient, hungry alligator. The play includes several 'underwater performance' sequences, brought to life by inventive set, costume, lighting, and sound design. Performed by Isabella Dawis, Elizabeth Evans, Lindsey Spohler, and Maggie Thompson*, The End of Mermaids kicks off the second annual season of Corkscrew Theater Festival, a new summer theater festival that provides early-career artists with a high level of production support.

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce acclaimed stage and screen actor Amanda Plummer as the recipient of the Festival's second annual TENN Award.

Most of us in this area know Michael Kahn as the Artistic Director of Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC). It's a post he will have held for over thirty years when he retires at the end of the company's 2018/19 season.

The Provincetown Tennessee Williams Theater Festival is pleased to announce that tickets to the Annual Dinner are now on sale. The Festival will host the gala on Saturday, June 2 at Town Hall in Provincetown. The fundraising event supports the Festival's 13th annual program, which will play in venues throughout Provincetown September 27-30, 2018.

Proceeds from the evening will go to support all of Red Bull Theater's programs, including the upcoming Off-Broadway premiere of David Ives's The Metromaniacs, directed by Michael Kahn.

Shakespeare Theatre Company today announces the cast of Lerner and Loewe's multiple Tony Award-winning musical Camelot. Directed by STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul (Kiss Me, Kate; Man of La Mancha), the classic musical will play at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St NW) from May 22 through July 1, concluding STC's 2017-2018 mainstage season.

Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) will host Druid, Ireland's most celebrated theatre company, and their critically acclaimed production of Waiting for Godot. Directed by Tony Award-winner Garry Hynes, Druid's production of Samuel Beckett's absurd, anarchic masterpiece will make its regional premiere at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street, NW) from April 17 through May 20, 2018 before it travels on to Chicago.

Potted Potter, The Unauthorized Harry Experience - A Parody by Dan and Jeff will return to Shakespeare Theatre Company to entertain the District's witches, wizards and muggles.
