Indianapolis Violin Competition Gold Medalist Richard Lin To Be Featured In Scottish Program With Montclair Orchestra

The Montclair Orchestra takes its audience on a Scottish journey led by conductor David Chan for their next concert entitled 'Ceud Mìle Faìlte' on March 8, 2020, at Montclair's Central Presbyterian Church (5pm). Violinist Richard Lin, the 2018 Gold Medal winner of the prestigious Indianapolis Violin Competition, will play Bruch's violin concerto, 'Scottish Fantasy'. Lin, described as 'one of the new generation's most promising and gifted young concert soloists' (The Violin Channel), is applauded for his 'ability to draw the audience in... with tremendous subtlety, never lacking direction' (violinist.com). Also featured on the program is Mendelssohn's 3rd Symphony, 'Scottish' and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' celebratory 'An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise', featuring world-renowned bagpiper Kenneth Mackenzie.

Geffen Playhouse today announced a new artist residency with Cast Iron Entertainment, a cohort of artists including two-time Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown (Frozen 2, This is Us), Glenn Davis (Billions, King James), Emmy Award and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry (The Eternals, Atlanta), Tony Award nominee Jon Michael Hill (Elementary, Widows), André Holland (Selma, Jitney) and Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight, Choir Boy). This new artist residency will run for a period of one year.

The Young Man from Atlanta officially opened last night, November 24th in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The Young Man from Atlanta is the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by two-time Academy Award winner and former Signature Residency One Playwright Horton Foote, directed by Michael Wilson.

59E59 Theaters announces that Michael Tucker's FERN HILL will extend their run by one week. The production will now close on Sunday, October 27. The performance schedule is Tuesday a?" Friday at 7 pm; Saturday at 2 pm & 7 pm; and Sunday at 2 pm. Performances are at 59E59 Theaters (59 East 59th Street, between Park and Madison). Single tickets are $70 ($49 for 59E59 Members). Davis and MBL Productions, Inc., FERN HILL began preview performances on Tuesday, September 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 20. The production opened on September 19.
