Steppenwolf Theatre Company will move the world premiere production of King James by ensemble member Rajiv Joseph to the 2021/22 Season. Originally scheduled to open May 7, 2020, King James is a co-production with the Center Theatre Group (CTG) and will be directed by Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro.

Valley of the Moon Music Festival (VMMF) has announced a change in the program for its concert at the Green Music Center on Sunday, April 26 at 3 p.m.

 The Montclair Orchestra takes its audience on a Scottish journey led by conductor David Chan for their next concert entitled 'Ceud Mìle Faìlte' on March 8, 2020, at Montclair's Central Presbyterian Church (5pm). Violinist Richard Lin, the 2018 Gold Medal winner of the prestigious Indianapolis Violin Competition, will play Bruch's violin concerto, 'Scottish Fantasy'. Lin, described as 'one of the new generation's most promising and gifted young concert soloists' (The Violin Channel), is applauded for his 'ability to draw the audience in... with tremendous subtlety, never lacking direction' (violinist.com). Also featured on the program is Mendelssohn's 3rd Symphony, 'Scottish' and Sir Peter Maxwell Davies' celebratory 'An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise', featuring world-renowned bagpiper Kenneth Mackenzie.

Geffen Playhouse today announced a new artist residency with Cast Iron Entertainment, a cohort of artists including two-time Emmy Award winner Sterling K. Brown (Frozen 2, This is Us), Glenn Davis (Billions, King James), Emmy Award and Tony Award nominee Brian Tyree Henry (The Eternals, Atlanta), Tony Award nominee Jon Michael Hill (Elementary, Widows), André Holland (Selma, Jitney) and Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight, Choir Boy). This new artist residency will run for a period of one year.

This February, the world famous Apollo Theater will kick off Black History Month with Apollo Open House: Celebration of Cool on Saturday February 1st from 1 p.m. a?" 6.p.m., to celebrate and explore the rich history of the Theater as it continues the legacy of Black History.

From January 3-25, 2020, SpeakEasy Stage Company will join with The Front Porch Arts Collective, Boston's only black-led theatre company, to co-produce the New England Premiere of the acclaimed drama PASS OVER by Antoinette Nwandu.  

The Young Man from Atlanta officially opened last night, November 24th in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The Young Man from Atlanta is the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by two-time Academy Award winner and former Signature Residency One Playwright Horton Foote, directed by Michael Wilson.

Michael Cerveris and his bandmate Kimberly Kaye are bringing their band Loose Cattle up from New Orleans and herding their off kilter americana murmurations into Joe's Pub for the first time in four years on Wednesday December 4th at 9:30pm.

59E59 Theaters announces that Michael Tucker's FERN HILL will extend their run by one week. The production will now close on Sunday, October 27. The performance schedule is Tuesday a?" 59E59 Theaters is presenting the NYC premiere of FERN HILL, written by Michael Tucker and directed by Nadia Tass. Produced by Mary J. Davis and MBL Productions, Inc., FERN HILL began preview performances on Tuesday, September 10 for a limited engagement through Sunday, October 20. The production opened on September 19.
