Get a first look at Round House Theatre's U.S. premiere of Rules for Living, a dark holiday comedy about family tension and behavioral patterns.

Today’s subject Maisie Posner is currently living her theatre life onstage at Round House Theatre sharing the role of Emma with Avery Harris in Rules for Living.  The production runs through January 4th and marks her Round House Theatre debut. 

Round House Theatre will stage the U.S. premiere of Sam Holcroft’s Rules for Living from December 3, 2025, to January 4, 2026, directed by Artistic Director Ryan Rilette in Bethesda.

The event will feature songs from Jones & Schmidt’s Broadway musicals Celebration, 110 in the Shade, and I Do, I Do as well as a sampling of the team’s Off-Broadway scores, and more.

A stellar lineup of Broadway talent will come together on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:00 PM at The Laurie Beechman Theatre to celebrate the songs of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt.

The fine playwright Heidi Schreck has written an impassioned play about the many undercurrents and issues that percolate throughout the United States Constitution in the stimulating and invigorating production What the Constitution Means to Me. The constant tension between this cherished document as a more legalistic document to be taken literally (originalist interpretation) and the more fluid interpretation of the Constitution as a living, breathing document –are felt throughout this absorbing and ever-timely play which is presented by the Round House Theatre.

Shakespeare Theatre Company has announced the cast of Peter Pan and Wendy (previously announced as Peter Pan), a reimagining of J.M. BARRIE's classic work by 'America's Most-Produced Playwright' (American Theatre) LAUREN GUNDERSON (Ada and the Engine, Silent Sky). This world premiere will be onstage for the holidays at Sidney Harman Hall from December 3, 2019-January 12, 2020.

Tiger Style! by Mike Lew, an outrageous and cutting satire of Asian-American identity, completes Olney Theatre Center's 81st season in the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab (July 17 - August 18, 2019). The production is directed by the boundary-pushing director Natsu Onoda Power, who recently pulled off the rare feat of winning two Helen Hayes Awards (one for direction, one for design) in a single evening.
