On Saturday, February 24, Shoshana Bean performed her album release show - Spectrum - at Ace Theater Downtown Los Angeles. Spectrum, Bean's fourth studio album which was released on February 9, is a fresh new take on the classic tradition of big band with arrangements by Grammy award-nominated arranger Alan Ferber.

The nominees for the 2018 Helen Hayes Awards were announced on February 5, 2018. One of the country's most prestigious cultural honors, The Helen Hayes Awards recognizes and celebrates excellence in professional theatre throughout the Washington metropolitan area. The National Theatre's Helen Hayes Gallery set the scene for the announcement of nominees in 47 categories for artistic excellence, and the theatre companies eligible for the 2017 John Aniello Award for Outstanding Emerging Theatre Company. The recipient of the 2018 Helen Hayes Tribute will be announced shortly.

Amid inclement weather and other January obstacles, Ilia Volok opened the Off-Broadway run of his riveting one-man show, DIARY OF A MADMAN, this past Wednesday to great excitement. His re-imagined version of Nikolai Gogol's dark piece, which won enormous praise during its West Coast tour and garnered great success during its East Coast try-out at New York's Beckman Theatre now is enjoying an Off-Broadway run at the spacious John Cullum Theatre.

The Addams Family, a musical comedy, is written by the creators of the multi award-winning Jersey Boys, with music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated composer Andrew Lippa (The Wild Party) and based on characters created by Charles Addams.

Definition Theatre Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Tyrone Phillips and Managing Director Neel McNeill, announces the final production of its 2017-2018 Season, the Chicago premiere of Moon Man Walk, written by James Ijames and directed by Tyla Abercrumbie. Moon Man Walk runs January 26 - February 25, 2018 in the Richard Christiansen Theater at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue, as part of Definition's tenure in the Victory Gardens Resident Theater Program. The press opening is Sunday, January 28, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Single tickets are on sale and may be purchased by calling the Victory Gardens box office at 773-781-3000 or at victorygardens.org.

There are many reasons why THE FANTASTICKS original off-Broadway production ran a total of 42 years and 17,162 performances, making it the world's longest-running musical which continues to enchant audiences around the world. Aside from it being a 'Romeo and Juliet' type story we can all relate to, but with a much happier ending, its most well-known song, 'Try to Remember,' speaks to everyone wanting to go back to a time in our lives when all things were much more simple, romantic, and totally carefree.

The panel will take place after the July 28th matinee performance of The Movement's current production And She Would Stand Like This by Harrison David Rivers, directed by David Mendizabal, and choreographed by Kia LaBeija at the A.R.T../New York Theatres in the Mezzanine Theatre. Current partners for this event include The Door, A Center of Alternatives, and Safe Horizon's Streetwork Project.
