Amazon Studios today announced the first group of series regulars set to star in the new Amazon Original series based on stories from the iconic 'The Lord of the Rings' novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. Newly revealed cast members including Robert Aramayo, Owain Arthur, Nazanin Boniadi, Tom Budge, Morfydd Clark, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Ema Horvath, Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Tyroe Muhafidin, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Charlie Vickers, and Daniel Weyman. The MacDowell Colony has awarded Fellowships to 87 artists from 21 states and seven countries. The incoming Fellows reflect seven artistic disciplines and will arrive from locales as far apart as Poland, Mexico, Belgium, and Israel, as well as Tennesee, Washington, and Minnesota. The Fellowships are for upcoming winter and spring residencies at one of the nation's leading contemporary arts organizations.

The second production in Promethean Theatre Ensemble's 2019-20 season of plays exploring the rights and roles of women in society will be MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION - George Bernard Shaw's satirical take on the limited opportunities for women in late 19th Century British society. One of Shaw's earliest plays, it is representative of Shaw's gift for delivering biting social criticism with humor. Promethean's production will be performed in a brand-new world premiere adaptation by Melanie Spewock that streamlines Shaw's text and makes it more woman-centric, focusing on the mother-daughter relationship between Mrs. Warren and her daughter Vivie.
Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) unveils its first yearlong collection show, featuring all women artists. The exhibition includes a section of rotational highlights and a gallery dedicated to rarely shown installation-based works. 'Unapologetic: All Women, All Year' will be on view February 15, 2020 - January 31, 2021.

Théâtre français de Toronto (TfT) and Théâtre Populaire d'Acadie present the Toronto premiere of LESSON IN FORGETTING (Exercice de l'oubli). Written by Emma Haché (finalist for the 2017 Governor General's Award in theatre) and directed by TfT's own Joël Beddows, this poignant love story sensitively unveils the tensions that arise in a relationship in which feelings collide when memory is lost. Starring Bruno Verdoni and Claire Normand, Lesson in Forgetting will be presented in French with English surtitles, February 5 to 9, 2020, at the Berkeley Street Theatre.
