Stephanie Hsu is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical.
It's been almost a decade since Stephanie Hsu made her Broadway debut in SpongeBob SquarePants. Since then, she she not only made a name for herself in film and TV, but earned an Oscar nomination for her work in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Now she is back onstage in The Rocky Horror Show and she has a Tony nomination to show for it.
"This nomination and also in this category is so meaningful to me," she told BroadwayWorld. "Just even how I perceive myself as a leading lady or a leading actress is so meaningful, especially in the role of Janet Weiss in this piece of American iconography. It means... a lot."
