Review: MEL BROOKS' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN at Murry's Dinner Playhouse in Little Rock

Have you ever laughed so hard you nearly spit out your custom made green pina colada? That’s the kind of delightfully zany fun waiting for you at Young Frankenstein, now playing at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse in Little Rock through November 8. With Mel Brooks’ outrageous humor, toe-tapping musical numbers, and Murry’s signature blend of good food and great theatre, this production is an absolute scream—literally.

Photos: First look at Evolution Theatre Company’s DRACULA, A COMEDY OF TERRORS

Ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker's legendary vampire tale and put in into a blender with the comedic influences of Mel Brooks, Monty Python and The 39 Steps? That's just what happens in this lightning-fast, laugh-out-loud 90-minute gender-bending, quick-change magical romp. When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Jean Van Helsing. Doctor Jean Van Helsing and her motley company chase the dangerous and sexy Count Dracula from the English countryside to Transylvania to 'other frightening places.' Their antics brim with enough tongue-in-cheek mayhem to fill your cup of giggles.

Review: YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN at Rochester Opera House

At the Rochester Opera House, currently hosting a rollicking production of the musical Young Frankenstein, the formula is simple. Give reverence to a film classic, add equal parts of infectious energy by outstanding talent and the result is non-stop laughter.

Review: THE PRODUCERS at Théâtre De Paris

A Triumphant Return: 'Les Producteurs' Lights Up Théâtre de Paris Once More. Oh, what a delight it is to dive back into the uproarious world of Mel Brooks' The Producers—or as the French so aptly title it, Les Producteurs—at Théâtre de Paris-Salle Réjane, running from September 25 2025 to January 11 2026.

Review: THE PRODUCERS at Gdynia Musical Theater

What did our critic think of PRODUCERS at Gdynia Musical Theater? It’s not the first time, but it’s still a title that the Polish audience isn’t deeply familiar with. There are so many inside jokes that it’s hard to count, and even more references to American culture, brutally mocked by Mel Brooks, that can be tricky for Polish viewers to grasp. Nevertheless, the show delivers plenty of laughs.
