See Paris Opera Ballet Only In Queensland For QPAC International Series

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), alongside Queensland's Minister for the Arts Leeanne Enoch and Minister for Tourism Industry Development Kate Jones today announced one of the world's most historically renowned ballet companies, Paris Opera Ballet, will perform exclusively for the 2020 QPAC International Series from 1 to 19 July.

Composer and Pianist Timo Andres Launches First “CSO Proof” Performance at Music Hall

Calling all musical adventurists! The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's new CSO Proof series offers a novel way to experience performances at Music Hall. Imagine artists and audience members sharing the stage in casual, intermission-less concerts with elements of music, theater, lighting and dance. During the 2019/2020 season, three CSO Proof performances will help celebrate the Orchestra's 125th anniversary by presenting artists collaborating with different curators who craft themes connecting orchestral music to listeners in adventurous ways.

Beijing Music Festival Concludes 22nd Season

A rapturous performance on Monday featuring superstar soprano Renée Fleming, Maestro Long Yu, and the China Philharmonic Orchestra drew the 22nd Beijing Music Festival (BMF) to a dramatic close. This season explored a new style of classical music with today's most cutting-edge expressive forms.

David Norland to Release Debut Album GLAM TEAR STAIN

LA-based, English neo-classical composer, David Norland, has been lauded over the years for his musical collaborations for film and TV. He recently composed the score to the Emmy, Critics' Choice and Writers Guild of America nominated 2018 HBO film 'My Dinner with Herve' (starring Peter Dinklage and Jamie Dornan), the film 'Anvil! The Story of Anvil' (which won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2010, the IDA Best Feature award, an Emmy award, and numerous other best documentary awards around the world), in addition to the score for the 2017's 'November Criminals' (starring Chloe Moretz and Ansel Elgort). He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Direction And Composition For A Drama Series in 2019. Norland is also known for his musical collaborations in the news and TV worlds including '20/20', 'Good Morning America', and 'The View', among many others. Now he is proud to announce that he will be releasing his debut full length solo album, 'Glam Tear Stain', tomorrow, 11/1 on Denovali Records, his debut for the German independent music label.

Tom Ashbrook Releases New Single 'Sines'

Tom Ashbrook releases his new single 'Sines' on 25 October via The Other Songs, which premiered via Clash Magazine. This is the title track lifted from his upcoming Sines EP, to be released on 22 November, mastered by Mike Cave (Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, The Charlatans) and mixed by Mike Halls (Clean Cut Kid). Previous single 'Toon Soon' recently premiered on Vents Magazine, and he has already seen support from Son of Marketing, Mr Foxx Frequency and Music Week. Ashbrook has toured extensively throughout his life and has shared the stage with Simply Red's Mick Hucknell at the Royal Albert Hall, played alongside Jools Holland as a session musician, and composed for the prestigious Matthew Bourne Dance Company. In addition, he worked alongside Sir Paul McCartney and 6ix Toys composing the anthem for Liverpool's 2008 award as European Capital of Culture city and toured with well known Pink Floyd Tribute band, Brit Floyd.

Short+Sweet Hollywood Dance Festival Returns

Short+Sweet is the world's largest festival of short works for stage, film and dance. Founded in 2002, it takes place in 30 cities in nine countries. The Short+Sweet Hollywood Dance Festival will take place on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.

Winter Events Announced At The Center For The Arts At George Mason University

The Center for the Arts at George Mason University continues the 2019/20 season this November and December with an array of dance, theater, opera, and music from around the world through programs from Great Performances at Mason, the Family Series, as well as signature events from Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Miami City Ballet Returns To Lincoln Road With BALLET ON THE BEACH

Miami City Ballet returns to Lincoln Road, the company's original home, with Ballet on the Beach, two special performances on Miami Beach in the intimate setting of the Colony Theatre on Saturday, November 23 at 7pm and Sunday, November 24 at 2pm. Ballet on the Beach are shorter performances in a casual setting and feature highlights from the highly anticipated 2019-20 season.

Boston Ballet Ii To Perform At Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center!

Boston Ballet II (BBII) will perform at Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe, Vermont on Saturday, November 2 at 7:00 pm.  The program will feature three works by Boston Ballet-based choreographers, a 19th century work by Arthur Saint-Leon, composer Amilcare Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours, a romantic duet by Tony Award-winning choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, and excerpts from Mikko Nissinen's The Nutcracker.

The 22nd Beijing Music Festival Presents Unique Music Experiences

Celebrating its twenty-second year, the 2019 Beijing Music Festival (BMF) presents an art feast for audiences during Beijing's golden autumn. Over the past two decades, world-renowned conductor Long Yu established a rich artistic foundation for the Beijing Music Festival. And beginning in 2018, the new artistic director Shuang Zou, with the support of Maestro Long Yu, the BMF Artistic Committee, and supporting staff, has succeeded in incorporating more inclusive and avant-garde artistic elements to the festival, which are sure to surprise and impress audiences.

MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet To Present New Piece At 2019 NYC Climate Week

MOVEIUS Contemporary Ballet (MOVEIUS), creating a path for ballet to speak to political and societal issues, will perform a trio of climate-inspired works to The Ailey Citigroup Theater, September 23-25, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. Climate: Movement for Change is part of the high-profile New York Climate Week which starts with the United Nations Secretary-General's Climate Change Summit 2019. The evening features a trio of pieces that unite art and activism. GLACIER: A Climate Change Ballet, which imagines dancers as melting polar ice caps, Rite of Spring, Crash of Fall, plays off Stravinsky's score to explore the 2008 financial collapse, and a new piece, tentatively titled Ground Control, is inspired by the first pictures taken of Earth from space. 

Central School Of Ballet Presents Choreography Showcase

Central School of Ballet, one of the world's leading centres for professional dance training, will present an evening to showcase a selection of new works by choreographers Jenna Lee and Sophie Laplane at Jackson's Lane Theatre on 19th June.   Four new pieces will be presented at Jackson's Lane, all created as part of Central's MA Choreography programme.  The evening will feature performances by Ballet Central and guest dancers from world-renowned companies English National Ballet and Scottish Ballet.
