The Olivier Awards 2017 with Mastercard - the most prestigious event in the UK's theatrical calendar - has revealed further details of the star-studded ceremony, hosted by Jason Manford on Sunday 9 April at the Royal Albert Hall.

Last night, musical 42ND STREET opened at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London's West End. The show received a royal seal of approval from Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who was given a pair of golden tap shoes by the producers and writer/director Mark Bramble. The Duchess attended the show in her role as Royal Patron of East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH).

Park Theatre's Artistic Director Jez Bond will direct Miriam Margolyes, Frances Barber and Jonathan Forbes in the world premiere of Madame Rubinstein, a brand new comedy by John Misto, playing at Park Theatre from 26 April - 27 May, with a press night on 3 May.

A revue is a rare theatrical treat these days. In its heyday, the irresistible combination of light comedy, song and dance sketches was incredibly popular. Its golden age lasted from the early 1920s to the late 1950s and for much of that time its greatest practitioner was Noel Coward who wrote and appeared in a succession of revues on both sides of the Atlantic such as London Calling! (1923) and Sigh No More (1945).
Park Theatre Announces Casting for SAVING JASON

Casting has been announced for Park Theatre's new dark comedy Saving Jason, created by the two-time Olivier Award nominated writer of the West End/Broadway hits Glorious! and End of the Rainbow, Peter Quilter. Directed by Steven Dexter, the cast includes Jacques Miche, Tor Clark, Cory Peterson, William Oxborrow, Julie Armstrong and Paddy Navin. Saving Jason will play at Park90, from 2 November until 3 December 2016, with a press night on Monday 7 November, 7pm.

Yesterday, Richmond Theatre launched their Christmas pantomime, SLEEPING BEAUTY, in appropriately fairy tale fashion at London's Kew Gardens. Making a welcome return to panto is Maureen Lipman, who stars at the Wicked Fairy, with Lauren Hood as Sleeping Beautya and CBeebies presenter Chris Jarvis as Chester the Jester. Sleeping Beauty runs December 2-January 8, 2017.
