There's “Magic To Do” As PIPPIN Comes To NJCU Beginning March 25

New Jersey City University Music, Dance and Theatre Department, in collaboration with Joffrey Ballet School presents Pippin. The curtain goes up for two weekends of performances, beginning Friday, March 25 at NJCU's Margaret Williams Theater, located on campus in Hepburn Hall, 2039 Kennedy Boulevard in Jersey City, N.J.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 Announces New Dates for AT THE WEDDING

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 announced new dates for its world premiere production of AT THE WEDDING, a new play by Bryna Turner, directed by Jenna Worsham. The play will now begin performances Saturday, March 5 and run for six weeks only through Sunday, April 17 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).  Opening night is Monday, February 28.

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 to Present World Premiere of AT THE WEDDING

Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 will return this winter with the world premiere of AT THE WEDDING, a new play by Bryna Turner, directed by Jenna Worsham, which will begin performances Saturday, February 12 and run for six weeks only through Sunday, March 27 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). Opening night is Monday, February 28.

Introducing Yale School Of Drama's Design Class Of 2020

YALE SCHOOL OF DRAMA introduces the 2020 Class of scenic, costume, lighting, sound, and projection designers, who matriculated this week. Theater Latté Da Announces Casting For TO LET GO AND FALL

Theater Latte Da announces the cast for award-winning playwright Harrison David Rivers' (Five Points) latest play, To Let Go and Fall. This newest play-with-music by Rivers marks his eighth produced work. New York-based director Sherri Eden Barber helms the production in the Twin Cities with original music composed by Minneapolis-based Jelloslave cellists Jacqueline Ultan and Michelle Kinney. Performances begin May 29 at the Ritz Theater (345 13th Avenue NE in Minneapolis). Single tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Latteda.org or by calling 612-339-3003.

THE PECULIAR PATRIOT Wins $100,000 Art For Justice Award

The Peculiar Patriot, Liza Jessie Peterson's one-woman takedown of the criminal justice system, has been acknowledged with a grant of $100,000 from the Art for Justice Fund, a five-year initiative that aims to turn art into action, investing more than $100 million into strategic efforts to reform the criminal justice system.

THE PECULIAR PATRIOT Returns To National Black Theatre

The Peculiar Patriot, the hilarious yet scathing indictment of the criminal justice system starring Liza Jessie Peterson and directed by Talvin Wilks is returning to National Black Theatre in preparation for a national tour this fall. The multimedia, one-woman show, which had its world premiere to a galvanizing, sold-out run in September, will have previews on July 9 and 10, open on July 11 and run through July 29. The show, a coproduction of Dr. Barbara Ann Teer's National Black Theatre (NBT) and Hi-ARTS, is being remounted as headlines blare with calls for tougher sentencing while governors from around the nation, including New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, are working to restore voting rights to the formerly incarcerated.
