Virginia Repertory Theatre will bring Dolly Parton’s hit show 9 to 5: The Musical to the Richmond community for the first time. Running from June 21 – Aug 4 at the November Theatre downtown, the show features a book by Patricia Resnick, based on the screenplay by Resnick and Colin Higgins. 

Kelly Jones has released Echowrecked, the latest single from his forthcoming studio album Inevitable Incredible – due out Friday, May 3rd. “Echowrecked” is a moving piano-driven ballad with delicate strings throughout and soulful vocals in a chorus of poetic lyricism. The training program Camp Broadway Indonesia (licensee of New York-based Camp Broadway) will send five students to perform at The New York Pops Birthday Gala, following their debut in 2023. The five chosen youth performers will go on the prestigious Carnegie Hall stage on April 29 to perform with Broadway stars as part of the international Camp Broadway Ensemble, honoring music icon Clive Davis.

ChicArt Productions will launch its first 5-Day High-performance Lab for actors and directors: an in-person workshop designed to elevate the skills and careers of emerging actors, performance artists, and directors.

According to reports, Jennifer Aniston will be producing a reimagining of Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 for 20th Century Studios. Aniston will be producing through her production company Echo Films, alongside co-founder Kristin Hahn. The script for the reimagining is being written by Diablo Cody, who previously scripted Juno, Jennifer's Body and the recent horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein.

And if they come see RAIN - A Tribute to the Beatles presented by the Dr. Phillips Center, they might just succeed in that time travel. RAIN - A Tribute to the Beatles, a show that has been called 'the next best thing to seeing The Beatles,' boasts a repertoire of nearly 200 Beatles favorites, ranging from such beloved songs as 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'Hey Jude' to classic hits including 'Revolution' and 'Come Together.'  Leading many of those familiar songs, in the iconic shoes of John Lennon is Steve Landes, and actor/singer/musician that has been performing Beatles-songs for most of his adult life and will be a part of the show when it arrives in Orlando. I had the privilege of speaking with Steve a number of years ago to learn a little more about his journey and our conversation still resonates today. MTV, in partnership with the Malta Tourism Authority, have announced that Isle of MTV Malta will return to Malta’s il-Fosos Square on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, with headlining performances from DJ Snake and RAYE. Promising huge, open-air sets, for the now 16th year, this event has become known as Europe’s biggest free summer festival.
