Netflix has announced he new and returning members for season two of Sex/Life. The series is is the story of a love triangle between a woman, her husband, and her past that takes a provocative new look at female identity and desire. Craig Bierko, Cleo Anthony, Darius Homayoun, Dylan Bruce, Wallis Day join the cast.

Written by Erika Dickerson-Despenza and directed by Candis C. Jones, Cullud Wattah follows three generations of Black women living through the Flint Water Crisis. The world premiere began preview performances in The Public's Martinson Hall on Tuesday, November 2 and officially opened last night, Wednesday, November 17.

The series is created by Steve Conrad ('Perpetual Grace Ltd.'), who will join the all-star cast for a Q&A and first look at the series.  'Ultra City Smiths' premieres July 22 on AMC+. Additional panelists will be confirmed at a later date.

New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month with an online readings series.

On March 13 and 20, 2021 New York's New Federal Theatre (NFT) will present 'New Federal Theatre Celebrates Women's History Month,' a retrospective readings series in which significant plays from the '80s on generational issues in Black women's lives will be recreated by noted actors and directors.  The readings will be free and accessible from NFT's website, https://www.newfederaltheatre.com. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for African Caribbean MixFest, a series of free readings co-produced by playwright Guadalís Del Carmen and playwright, director and Artistic Director of the Young Vic Kwame Kwei-Armah, that will run virtually Tuesday, January 19th through Friday, January 29th.

Monday November 16th (at 8pm) will offer a performance of Shaw's rarely performed Man & Superman, adapted and directed by David Staller, featuring Robert Cuccioli, Claybourne Elder, Santino Fontana, Nikki M. James, Christine Toy Johnson, Rob McClure, Lauren Molina, and more. Ms. Molina replaces the previously announced Margaret Odette.

Stars in the House has announced the next play in its series, Plays in the House. Plays in the House airs special performances of live readings of classic, award-winning plays, until Broadway reopens. These performances are all FREE and will remain online for four days after the initial live broadcast.

The Public Theater announced additions to the line-up for WE ARE ONE PUBLIC, a one-night-only star-studded virtual event to support The Public Theater, which will take place on Monday, June 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Adding to the fun are satirical references to more musicals than I could count, including Hamilton, Cabaret, Company, Avenue Q, Beauty and the Beast, and Bye Bye Birdie.

Geffen Playhouse presents its commissioned world premiere production of Revenge Song: A Vampire Cowboys Creation, written by Qui Nguyen (Vietgone, She Kills Monsters) and directed by Robert Ross Parker (Mothers, Disgraced). The production features original songs by Shane Rettig with lyrics by Qui Nguyen.

Qui Nguyen's REVENGE SONG: A VAMPIRE COWBOYS CREATION will receive its world premiere at the Geffen Playhouse opening February 13, 2020 (with previews beginning February 4). Nguyen's musical, historical comedy centers on real-life 17th century opera singer/swordswoman/lesbian Julie D'Aubigny and her road towards self-discovery and acceptance. Under Robert Ross Parker's direction, the REVENGE SONG cast includes: Noshir Dalal, Beth Hawkes, Tom Myers, Amy Kim Waschke, Eugene Young, and Margaret Odette in the pivotal role of Julie D'Aubigny. I had the chance to query Margaret on her path towards becoming Julie D'Aubigny.
