BATa??s 2020 Shelter-in-place Season II consists of five plays read during September through December 2020. These are amazing plays that would normally be on BAT's main stage. But COVID-19 changed things.

Classic Stage Company has announced its 2020-21 season. Bookending the season will be Doyle's new staging of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, in fall 2020, and the long-awaited New York premiere of Ten Cents a Dance, with music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics by Lorzenz Hart, in spring 2021. In between, CSC presents the third annual edition of its winter repertory series, this time pairing landmark 1970s prison dramas: the Tony Award-winning, Apartheid-era play The Island and Kiss of the Spider Woman, which inspired the Tony Award-winning musical and Academy Award-winning film of the same name.

A Greek myth retold, an unconventional narrative about cellmates in an Argentine prison and a Tennessee Williams classic seen through the lens of a Chinese American family will make up Wirtz Center's annual MFA Lab series in winter and spring of 2020.

Deadline has reported that Oscar nominee David Weisman has died at age 77. He is best known as a producer on 'Kiss of the Spider Woman,' and as an accomplished graphic artist.

Kander & Ebb's (Chicago, Cabaret) Tony Award-winning musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, is now in rehearsals at Melbourne Theatre Company ahead of its opening on Friday 22 November at Southbank Theatre.

From August 30 to September 15, Inteam Production is presenting the Belgian premiere of Kander & Ebb's masterpiece Kiss of the Spider Woman, based on the novel by Manuel Puig and the award-winning movie version in 1985.

On 1 September 2019, the first Dutch-language production of Kander and Ebb's Tony award-winning musical 'Kiss of the Spider Woman' will open in Antwerp. InTeam-Productions gathered a talented young cast for this Belgian premiere, most of whom recently graduated from drama school.

More than seven years after his first public reading at the now sadly gone 20eme Theater in Paris, the French adaptation of Kiss of the Spider Woman is still struggling to find a French producer despite the success it met with in the profession at the time and again at subsequent readings at the Alhambra Theater and last week at Bobino Theater. With the new French version of Chicago now successfully playing at Mogador Theater, it might be the right time to discover this underrated and too rarely revived masterpiece of Kander and Ebb, best known as the creator of Cabaret, Chicago and the title song of the movie New York, New York.

The Central New York Playhouse has earned a reputation for taking on some shows that are not often seen in the community theater realm and they typically do those productions well enough. There are usually enough positive elements that make it easy to overlook the negative ones. Unfortunately, in the case of their present musical production of Kiss of The Spider Woman, there are more misses than wows.

Lyric Stage Company opens its 44th season with the Tony Award-winning (seven, including Best Musical) KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN, directed and choreographed by Rachel Bertone, with music direction by Dan Rodriguez, who gets pizazz and a far bigger sound than anyone would expect from a five-piece orchestra. The show is almost entirely sung-through, and the Kander and Ebb score is outstanding, given its due by a cadre of vocalists who make each song better than the last. Eddy Cavazos and Taavon Gamble are impressive in their debuts at Lyric Stage.
