Actor and comedian Nigel Planer will star as Grandpa in the first ever stage adaptation of Grandpa's Great Escape, the exhilarating number one best-selling children's book by David Walliams which will tour UK arenas this Christmas. Tickets are on sale now.

The brand-new Rave Theater Festival has announced that out of hundreds of applications, 20 shows have been selected for the inaugural festival. The festival will be held this summer from August 9-25, 2019 at Clemente Soto Velez Cultural and Educational Center (107 Suffolk Street) on the Lower East Side. For its introductory year, Rave Theater Festival has selected a diverse roster of plays, musicals, family-friendly shows, and cross-disciplinary projects.

The first ever stage adaptation of Grandpa's Great Escape, the exhilarating number one bestselling children's book by actor and comedian David Walliams, is to tour UK arenas this Christmas. The live version of the kids' favourite, which has sold over two million copies around the world begins in Birmingham on 23 December. It will then visit London, Sheffield, Nottingham, Manchester, Newcastle and Glasgow before culminating in Liverpool on 4 January. Tickets go on sale at 8am on Tuesday 4 June.

It is also a universal truth that PRIDE AND PREJUDICE will be portrayed with the stiff formality of prior Austen adaptations - it's the law.  Thankfully, the Kate Hamill adaption now playing at the Cygnet Theatre through June 16th takes all of the starch out of the proceedings and adds in a bit of zany fun instead.

'Wake Me Up and You're Gone' is the debut single by London-based singer/songwriter and performance artist Saint Daniel, released via the artist's imprint label Thaler Records. The single and accompanying visual were premiered today on The 405 which called it 'a catchy pop track, but it is also quite melancholy -- a potent mix.'

For the first time in its 12-year history, the San Francisco-based PianoFight will present The Finals of the nation's largest, audience-judged theater competition, ShortLived VIII, at American Conservatory Theater's Strand Theater. The Finals' performances at The Strand will wrap up a nine week competition, featuring over 200 Bay Area artists creating 48 world premiere plays, staged for over 2,000 audience members who score each production. The group that scores the highest at the end of The Finals will be crowned the ShortLived VIII champion and awarded a $5,000 cash prize.

Warner Chappell Music (WCM) today announced that it has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Australian multi-hyphenate Eddie Perfect. The songwriter's work recently made its Broadway debut in two highly anticipated musicals: King Kong and Beetlejuice. King Kong, based on the classic 1933 film, opened at the Broadway Theatre in October of 2018, and Beetlejuice, based on the 1988 Tim Burton flick, recently opened at the Winter Garden Theatre.

Due to overwhelming demand, Madonna's Madame X Tour has announced additional dates in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Newly added New York shows will take place October 2 through October 7; Chicago shows October 23 and October 24; Los Angeles shows November 19 and November 20.

Old Forester's Paristown Hall, Louisville's newest state-of-the-art standing room venue, has announced a roster of performances for its opening in late July. These acts include iconic New York rock band Interpol, Memphis country-punk rockers Lucero and singer-songwriter sensation Gavin DeGraw.  The Opening Night event on July 23 will be headlined by Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, along with a slate of performers including the dance troupe Pilobolus, Mucca Pazza and local favorite Ben Sollee.
