Opening night of Little Shop of Horrors was celebrated last night at the Pasadena Playhouse. The production stars George Salazar as “Seymour Krelborn;” Mj Rodriguez as “Audrey;” Kevin Chamberlin, as “Mr. Mushnik;” Matthew Wilkas as “Orin Scrivello;” and Amber Riley as “Audrey ll.”

Next up at Pasadena Playhouse, the sci-fi musical comedy LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, already in previews, will open September 25, 2019. Promising new twists and surprises, this cult hit written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken over thirty-five years ago, will be directed by Mike Donahue. I had a chance to throw out a few questions to Olivier Award-winner Amber Riley who's playing Audrey II.

George Salazar, who will soon take the stage in Pasadena Playhouse's production of Little Shop of Horrors as Seymour, has some history with this show!

Will is FREAKING out over today's guest! George Salazar is coming off his iconic run in the hit 'Be More Chill' to mount a reinterpretation of the classic Little Shop of Horrors starring alongside Mj Rodriguez (Pose) As 'Audrey,' and Amber Riley (Glee) as 'Audrey II' in a classic boy meets girl, power-hungry, R&B singing, carnivorous plant strives for world domination.

Over the last decade, Ryan Murphy has become one of the most influential creators in entertainment. The screenwriter, director and producer has won six Emmy Awards out of 28 nominations and a Tony Award in 2019 for Best Revival of a Play, as a producer. He has also earned three Grammy Award nominations, as a producer.

Pasadena Playhouse, the State Theater of California, has completed casting for Little Shop of Horrors which comes to the Playhouse September 17 through October 20; the press opening is September 25.
