Mj Rodriguez and Nico Santos to Announce Nominees for the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards

GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that the nominees for the 30th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be announced live from Park City, Utah from the AT&T Hello Lounge during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival on Friday, January 25. The announcement will be hosted by Mj Rodriguez (FX's Pose) and Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians, NBC's Superstore). GLAAD is an Institute Associate of Sundance and will also host on-the-ground events during the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to raise visibility of LGBTQ-inclusive films and LGBTQ filmmakers.

The Clive Barnes Foundation, under the leadership of former Royal Ballet soloist Valerie Taylor-Barnes, announced today the finalists and date for the 9th Annual Clive Barnes Awards. Hosted by New York Post columnist and WOR radio personality Michael Riedel, the presentation of the annual awards recognizing excellence in theater and dance will take place on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 3:00pm at the Walter Reade Theater at Lincoln Center (165 West 65th Street).

The Trevor Project hosted its 2018 TrevorLIVE Los Angeles gala at The Beverly Hilton where it honored Emmy®, Golden Globe® and Peabody® Award-winning screenwriter, producer and director Ryan Murphy and the cast of 'POSE;' Amandla Stenberg; and AT&T. Eugene Lee Yang hosted the event which helped raise over $1.5 million and included performances by Lauren Jauregui, Deborah Cox, and a surprise performance by POSE castmates Billy Porter, Mj Rodriguez, and Our Lady J. The American Repertory Theater looks very different in 2018 after ten years with Artistic Director Diane Paulus at the helm. She has changed the institution with her vision and creativity, sculpting, in her words, a 'legacy of boundary-breaking musical theater.' In celebration of the past decade, which has seen 33 musical and music-theater pieces staged at the Loeb Drama Center and Oberon, A.R.T. presents EXTRAORDINARY, an original cabaret-style entertainment featuring a company of returning artists and special guests to perform some of the greatest hits from the Paulus canon.

PBS Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

PBS announced today that it will air the 31st ANNUAL HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS on Friday, September 28 at 10:00 p.m. ET (check local listings) as part of its ongoing commitment to celebrate and honor the contributions of Hispanic Americans as recognized by The Hispanic Heritage Foundation. The awards are the country's highest honor given to Latinos by Latinos. The ceremony, which will be hosted by digital content creators Lele Pons and Rudy Mancuso, recognizes excellence in a number of fields, from the arts to community service to entrepreneurship, and features celebrity appearances and musical performances from Fonseca, Karol G, José Feliciano, Jesse & Joy and more. The awards are presented at The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC.

GLAAD, the world's largest LGBTQ media advocacy organization, today announced that it would honor actor and activist Alyssa Milano with the inaugural Ariadne Getty Ally Award at the 2018 GLAAD Gala San Francisco on September 15th, 2018 at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco. The GLAAD Gala San Francisco celebrates and features storytellers and tech innovators who accelerate LGBTQ acceptance and helps fund GLAAD's digital advocacy work to grow LGBTQ inclusion in digital and social media. GLAAD also announced that veteran journalist Emil Wilbekin would receive the Ric Weiland Award for growing LGBTQ inclusion in tech.
