Goodspeed has released a new episode in its In The (Home) Office series!

Today, we're checking in with NY Theatre Barn, with Artistic Director Joe Barros.

New York Theatre Barn will host a live streaming of a New Works Series presentation on March 25, 2020 at 7PM. The show will go on with pre-premieres of the new musicals HoT and Dimes. This installment will be free of charge.

The 13th season of New York Theatre Barn's signature New Works Series continues Monday, April 6th, 2020, with exclusive pre-premieres of the new musicals HoT and Dimes. New York Theatre Barn serves as a home for new musicals during incubation.

Broadway ladies united earlier this month for the world premiere of Award-winning composer Carmel Dean's Well-Behaved Women. The cast included: LaChanze, Liz Callaway, Natascia Diaz, Melissa Rose Hirsh, Bonnie Milligan, Katie Thompson, Kuhoo Verma, Sasha Allen, Andréa Burns, Hannah Elless and Barbara Walsh. Feinstein's/54 Below will shine bright this Wednesday, February 5th at 9:30pm, with a star-studded cast set to perform new works by female composers and lyricists in support of Maestra Music.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 40 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2020 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 15 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

Broadway stars Sasha Allen, Andréa Burns and Hannah Elless have joined the world premiere cast of Award-winning composer Carmel Dean's Well-Behaved Women, it was announced today. Premiering at Joe's Pub on Saturday, January 25th, the 7 PM performance sold out in less than 48 hours, and an additional show has been added for 4:30 PM.

Maestra is an organization founded by Georgia Stitt that exists to give support, visibility, and community to female composers, music directors, orchestrators, arrangers, copyists, music coordinators, and musicians who are an underrepresented minority in musical theater. Theatre Aspen announced today that after a successful first year, the organization's developmental one-person show festival, Solo Flights, will return for year two, September 16 a?" 19, 2020 at the Hurst Theatre in Aspen, Colorado.

The NYYS Musical Theater Composition program offers songwriting training from all facets of the theater industry to young composers and lyricists ages 12 - 22.

Solo Flights is an annual week-long festival of one-person shows presented in the beginning stages of their development. In addition to the performances, Solo Flights will feature signature events including talkbacks, creative discussions, and special receptions. This year's Solo Flights festival will be held September 18 - 21, 2019 at Theatre Aspen's Hurst Theatre.

New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of educating and inspiring young musicians through its Orchestra, Jazz, Chamber Music, Composition, Musical Theater Composition, Apprenticeship Conducting, and First Music commissioning programs. This season includes seven world premieres of new works commissioned through the First Music program, composed for the Orchestra, Jazz, and Chamber Music ensembles.
