Baltimore Center Stage has announced the complete cast and creative team for Our Town. Written by Thornton Wilder and directed by Stevie Walker-Webb (The Folks at Home), Our Town begins performances on Thursday September 15 for a limited run through Sunday October 9.

The Public Theater and Elevator Repair Service will kick off The Public’s 55th anniversary season with the New York premiere production of BALDWIN AND BUCKLEY AT CAMBRIDGE. BALDWIN AND BUCKLEY AT CAMBRIDGE will begin performances in the Anspacher Theater with a Joseph Papp Free Performance on Saturday, September 24.

Playwrights Horizons has announced its most recent slate of commissioned artists, providing crucial support to today’s most imaginative writers, and to the realization of works that will shape the future of the American theater.

The Public Theater has announced casting for the upcoming revival of A RAISIN IN THE SUN written by Lorraine Hansberry and directed by Tony Award nominee Robert O’Hara. The cast of A RAISIN IN THE SUN will include Francois Battiste (Walter Lee Younger), Tonya Pinkins (Lena Younger), and more.

Concord Theatricals has announced the winners of the 2022 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, the nation's premier short play competition. The six plays will be published and available for licensing by Samuel French in the 47th edition of its Off Off Broadway collection.

 Broadway Black presents The 2nd Annual Antonyo Awards, which honors Black theatre artists during the 2021-2022 season. The live, in-person ceremony will be held on Monday, October 10 at the legendary Apollo Theater in Harlem (253 West 125th Street). Awards in 29 competitive categories and five honorary categories will be presented along with performances and guest appearances.

Following the announcement earlier this year that Obsidian Theatre was launching a vital new training and mentorship program supporting Black theatre creators –YOUNG, GIFTED & BLACK (YGB)– the company is thrilled to unveil the inaugural cohort for the program, which has recently gotten underway and will continue through to September 2023.

Vineyard Theatre has announced the company’s upcoming 40th Anniversary Season which will include three world-premiere productions. Samuel French’s Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival has announced that Joshua Harmon is this year’s honorary festival playwright. This year’s top 30 playwrights were chosen from over 650 submissions around the world. They will present their plays during a week-long festival August 16-20 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater in New York City.

Word for Word's Off the Page staged reading series is the public's first look at pieces Word for Word is considering for upcoming productions.

Evanston’s Fleetwood – Jourdain Theatre will present Lisa B. Thompson’s THE MAMALOGUES – an evening of monologues about the experience of parenting while Black, unmarried, and middle class in the age of anxiety – from July 23 to August 7, 2022.
