Theatre503 Announces 2020 Programming

Artistic Director Lisa Spirling today announces an entire year of programming for 2020 at the home of new writers, including the news that all four remaining finalists of the 2018 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award will be staged at the venue by November 2020. This follows on from the success of Award winner Out of Sorts by Danusia Samal premiering in October 2019. In February, the search for the best debut and emerging writers in the world will begin again as the 2020 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award opens for submissions.

Theatre503 Announces Cast For OUT OF SORTS

Theatre503 presents the world premiere of Out of Sorts, winner of the 2018 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award 2018. Written by actor, writer, singer Danusia Samal, this brilliantly insightful and irreverent play takes on what identity means in the modern world. Directed by Tanuja Amarasuriya, the cast is Nalân Burgess, Emma Denly, Myriam Acharki, Oznur Cifci, Claudius Peters and Nayef Rashed.

LAMDA MA Directing Students Present Season Of Plays This Summer

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) and the graduating MA Directing students will present a season of six plays, running in the Drama School's in-house theatres from 22 August a?" 6 September. As part of LAMDA's commitment to offer local residents increased access to the dramatic arts, half price tickets are available for Hammersmith & Fulham residents.

Erin Doherty and Sophie Melville Cast In Theatre503's WOLFIE

Theatre503 has announced ERIN DOHERTY and SOPHIE MELVILLE as the cast for 503Five playwright Ross Willis' debut play Wolfie. Erin was recently featured by the Evening Standard as a 'rising star' and plays Princess Anne in the forthcoming series of Netflix hit The Crown. Sophie's credits include Iphigenia in Splott, for which she received The Stage Award for Acting Excellence and Wales Theatre Award for Best Female Performance, and nominations for Evening Standard Award for Best Actress and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.

Sherman Theatre Brings 12 Emerging Talents To Theatre503

Cardiff's Sherman Theatre will present Wales's best emerging talent to a London audience in its New Welsh Voices showcase at Theatre503 on 13 and 14 December. The programme, which brings together the members of both its writer and director development schemes established by the Sherman's Artistic Director Rachel O'Riordan, will also provide a platform for Welsh and Wales-based performers. Sherman Theatre hopes to share the work of the best up and coming creatives it has nurtured over the past three years with a wider audience and promote the country's exciting new work.

Danusia Samal Wins The Theatre503 International Playwriting Award

Danusia Samal is announced as the winner of the third biennial Theatre503 International Playwriting Award at an event at The Bridge Theatre hosted by 503 Chair Erica Whymanand Artistic Director Lisa Spirling on Thursday 22 November.

Theatre503's 2018 Playwriting Award Finalists Announced

Five extraordinary new voices make up the finalists of Theatre503's 2018 International Playwriting Award. Mathilde Dratwa, Gillian Greer, Joel MacCormack, Philana Imade Omorotionmwan and Danusia Samal have been chosen from 2,055 scripts sent in from 49 countries.

Theatre503 Announce New All-Female Cast and Extended Dates For CINDERELLA AND THE BEANSTALK

Cinderella and the Beanstalk returns to Theatre503 this December in a new production directed by Carla Kingham. Singing, dancing and fighting their way through panto-pandemonium, is new all-female cast: Louise Beresford, Severine Howell-Meri, Amanda Shodeko and Anna Spearpoint. Due to popular demand, the run has been extended until 5 January.

LAMDA MA Graduating Students Will Present Final Productions

LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) present the final productions of its graduating MA students. Six upcoming directors will present a season of six plays from 23 August to 7 September, showcasing the work of students on the MA Directing course. MA Classical Acting graduates will perform the Shakespeare Season, running from 14 to 19 September.
