The UK's leading women's theatre company Sphinx Theatre, University Women in the Arts, the mentoring programme to improve the transition for women from studying the arts to working in the arts, and the December Group, a new group of leading women in theatre, have announced a major forum on Women in Theatre in the UK.
Artistic Director Lisa Spirling today announces an entire year of programming for 2020 at the home of new writers, including the news that all four remaining finalists of the 2018 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award will be staged at the venue by November 2020. This follows on from the success of Award winner Out of Sorts by Danusia Samal premiering in October 2019. In February, the search for the best debut and emerging writers in the world will begin again as the 2020 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award opens for submissions.

Theatre503 presents the world premiere of Out of Sorts, winner of the 2018 Theatre503 International Playwriting Award 2018. Written by actor, writer, singer Danusia Samal, this brilliantly insightful and irreverent play takes on what identity means in the modern world. Directed by Tanuja Amarasuriya, the cast is Nalân Burgess, Emma Denly, Myriam Acharki, Oznur Cifci, Claudius Peters and Nayef Rashed.

Theatre503 has announced ERIN DOHERTY and SOPHIE MELVILLE as the cast for 503Five playwright Ross Willis' debut play Wolfie. Erin was recently featured by the Evening Standard as a 'rising star' and plays Princess Anne in the forthcoming series of Netflix hit The Crown. Sophie's credits include Iphigenia in Splott, for which she received The Stage Award for Acting Excellence and Wales Theatre Award for Best Female Performance, and nominations for Evening Standard Award for Best Actress and Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Solo Performance.
