Breaking: Mary-Louise Parker Will Lead Adam Rapp's THE SOUND INSIDE on Broadway; David Cromer Set to Direct

Tony, Golden Globe, Emmy winner Mary-Louise Parker will star in the Broadway premiere of THE SOUND INSIDE, written by Adam Rapp (Red Light Winter), directed by Tony Award winner David Cromer (The Band's Visit). Ms. Parker will revisit her acclaimed performance as 'Bella' in Rapp's new play following its world premiere last summer at Williamstown Theatre Festival (New York Times 'Critic's Pick'). Will Hochman will make his Broadway debut reprising his role as 'Christopher.'

The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the gripping drama, "Skeleton Crew," written by 2018 MacArthur "Genius Grant" Fellow Dominique Morisseau and directed by LA Williams, from June 4 through June 22. 

Breaking: MY FAIR LADY Will Play Final Broadway Performance This Summer

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of Andre Bishop) has announced that its award-winning production of Lerner & Loewe's MY FAIR LADY, directed by Bartlett Sher, will ends its long run at the Vivian Beaumont Theater on Sunday, July 7. The production, which won the 2018 Drama Desk, Outer Critics and Drama League Awards for Best Musical Revival, will have played a total of 548 performances (39 previews and 509 performances).

Laura Osnes & Corey Cott to Thrill Feinstein's at the Nikko with LET'S DUET

Two of Broadway's brightest stars, beloved costars, and real-life friends, Laura Osnes and Corey Cott will bring their new duo act, Let's Duet!, to Feinstein's at the Nikko for two performances only-Friday, July 19 (8 p.m.) and Saturday, July 20 (8 p.m.). Dazzling audiences on Broadway last season with their undeniable chemistry and powerful performances in Bandstand, the talented pair reunites on-stage for an evening of duets, including tunes they've always dreamed of singing together, as well as iconic songs from Broadway and beyond.

Cast Of WHAT YOU ARE Announced At The Old Globe

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of What You Are, a Globe-commissioned new play by JC Lee and the second show in the 2018-2019 Season developed in the Powers New Voices Festival. Directed by Patricia McGregor, What You Are will run May 30 - June 30, 2019 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run May 30 - June 5. Opening night is Thursday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30.00 and are on sale now. Rehearsals Underway For IN THE GREEN By Grace McLean At LCT3

Rehearsals have begun for the Lincoln Center Theater/LCT3 world premiere of IN THE GREEN, a new musical by Grace McLean, directed by Lee Sunday Evans.  McLean will also be featured in the production, along with Rachael Duddy, Ashley Perez Flanagan, Mia Pak, and Hannah Whitney. IN THE GREEN will begin performances Saturday, June 8 and run for eight weeks only through Sunday, August 4 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street).  Opening night is Thursday, June 27.

The 2019 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out last night to recipients in 19 categories, with one special award and three honorary awards also bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by Drama Desk Award-nominated writer and performer of The New One, Mike Birbiglia. The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League by special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation. Additional support is provided by TDF.

The Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at NYU Skirball Center for Performing Arts, beginning at 7:00pm EST. Travis LeMont Ballenger Joins Justin Waldman As Associate Artistic Director Of The Old Globe

Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein today announced the appointment of Travis LeMont Ballenger as Associate Artistic Director. The Globe will have two people in this key position, as Ballenger joins Associate Artistic Director Justin Waldman, who has been at the Globe since 2011. Ballenger and Waldman will report jointly to Edelstein. Ballenger will assume his artistic duties at The Old Globe on May 1.

BWW Interview: MY FAIR LADY's Shereen Ahmed On the Importance of Eliza Doolittle for the Modern Age

New York City based actress and singer, Shereen Ahmed, has been part of the ensemble of My Fair Lady since the revival at Lincoln Center Theater premiered and more recently was cast as the understudy for the part of Eliza Doolittle. This past weekend, Ahmed had the exciting opportunity to step into the shoes of this iconic leading lady and experience life in the Edwardian era.
