Take a journey to the past with the stars of Anastasia this week! Following Thursday night's curtain call, the show's stars Christy Altomare and Zach Adkins will return onstage for a special performance of the beloved song 'At the Beginning' from the 1997 animated film.
National Alliance for Musical Theatre (Betsy King Militello, Executive Director) is thrilled to announce final casting for the 30th Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS along with The Songwriters Showcase and Midday Cabarets. The FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS takes place on Thursday, October 25 and Friday, October 26, 2018 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). Festival events kick off on Monday, October 22 with Thank You, 30! a gala event to celebrate the 30th Annual Festival.
The producers of ANASTASIA have just announced that Cody Simpson will join the Broadway company as leading man 'Dmitry' beginning November 29, 2018. Original company member Zach Adkins will play his final performance on Sunday, November 25.
Broadway Records announces that Anastasia (Original Broadway Cast Recording) will be released on vinyl on December 14, 2018. The special edition vinyl set will be available in the US with a retail exclusive at Barnes & Noble and bn.com. It will also be available via BroadwayRecords.com, and to audience members at the merchandise stands of Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre. The vinyl is now available for pre-order at bn.com and BroadwayRecords.com.

Mary Beth Peil will play her final performance as the "Dowager Empress" in the hit Broadway musical ANASTASIA on September 23, 2018. Peil is an original member of the Broadway company and was nominated for the 2017 Tony and Drama Desk Awards for her performance. She is a celebrated singer and stage and screen veteran, well known for her work in The King and I (Tony nomination), "Dawson's Creek" and "The Good Wife". Next, she can be seen starring in the acclaimed film "The Song of Sway Lake" opening in cinemas September 21, 2018.

Yesterday with its 60 Years of Musical Theatre: The Best of Maine State Music Theatre gala concert, the Brunswick theatre pulled out all the stops with a big, beautiful Diamond Jubilee gala that proved a stunning culmination to this milestone season. And indeed, six decades after Victoria Crandall launched her dream at the Pickard Theater on the Bowdoin College campus, MSMT can boast numerous reasons to celebrate its history, as well as its present accomplishments and future aspirations. In a matinee and evening stagings that featured musical performances by twenty-one soloists and an ensemble of ten, as well a number of spoken tributes, Artistic Director Curt Dale Clark architected a program that was classy, heartfelt, and rich and deep in the talent it showcased. As with any commemorative event, the program tapped into nostalgia and memory but blended these with a strong sense of the vigorous, energetic, imposing presence this company has become - not only in Midcoast Maine but also as a force in national regional theatre.

Producers Anita Waxman and Rodney Rigby announce today that they will present a private industry reading of the new musical Little Dancer on Friday, June 8, 2018 prior to the production's West Coast Premiere. Directed and choreographed by five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman, Little Dancer features a book and lyrics by Tony Award winner Lynn Ahrens and music by Tony Award winner Stephen Flaherty.

Former theatre/music publicist Stephen Schulman of SASi Public Relations was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer on November 21, 2017. He has been having chemo sessions ever since and is currently under treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering determined to fight this horrific disease.
