WLDRNSS (formerly Theatre Forever) Premieres WHEN I NOD MY HEAD YOU HIT IT WITH THE HAMMER

This fall, WLDRNSS will present the world premiere of When I Nod My Head You Hit It With The Hammer, a highly visual, playful and personal devised play about outdated internal maps, memory, hope and change. WLDRNSS is welcoming England-based theater artist (and long time friend of director Jon Ferguson) John Cooper to co-create and perform in the piece. The play will premiere at The Southern Theater on September 15, 2017, running through September 23, 2017.

Dance Theatre of Harlem (Virginia Johnson, Artistic Director; Anna Glass, Executive Director), one of the world's leading dance institutions, currently in its 47th year, will honor the “Empress of Soul,” Grammy-winning music legend Gladys Knight, the 106th First Lady of New York City Joyce Dinkins and the multinational law firm Latham & Watkins LLP at its 5th Annual Vision Gala, held immediately following the Wednesday, April 6 opening night performance of the company's triumphant return to New York City Center (131 West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues). The four-performance engagement will culminate on Saturday, April 9 with Black Ballerina Magic: A Tribute, a special program celebrating and paying tribute to black ballerinas.

From February 25 - March 6, 2016, in celebration of Artistic Director Emeritus Ben Stevenson's 80th birthday, Houston Ballet will revive his spectacular staging of The Sleeping Beauty. The ballet is a flagship work for the company and a piece that is recognized as one of the supreme achievements of classical ballet. The Sleeping Beauty is based on the classic French fairy tale by Charles Perrault: a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for 100 years - only to be awakened by the kiss of the handsome prince who loves her. Desmond Heeley's spectacular designs beautifully evoke the magic, drama and whimsy of this great work. Houston Ballet will give nine performances of The Sleeping Beauty at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston.
