The Brave New Workshop Theatre (BNW) is pleased to announce the opening of their 2017 Winter Show, 'Booty and the Beast: A Tinderella Story' on Saturday, February 11th. 

At a special luncheon at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, the Texas Cultural Trust announced today the 2017 honorees for the biennial Texas Medal of Arts Awards, taking place February 21-22, 2017, for the first time ever at Texas Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Austin.

Dance Theatre of Harlem (Virginia Johnson, Artistic Director; Anna Glass, Executive Director), one of the world's leading dance institutions, currently in its 47th year, will honor the “Empress of Soul,” Grammy-winning music legend Gladys Knight, the 106th First Lady of New York City Joyce Dinkins and the multinational law firm Latham & Watkins LLP at its 5th Annual Vision Gala, held immediately following the Wednesday, April 6 opening night performance of the company's triumphant return to New York City Center (131 West 55th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues). The four-performance engagement will culminate on Saturday, April 9 with Black Ballerina Magic: A Tribute, a special program celebrating and paying tribute to black ballerinas.

As the reputation of Nashville Ballet has grown over the years, so too have the company's dancers' resumes and notoriety. Case in point: NB principal Kayla Rowser has graced magazine covers, been the subject of numerous media reports and stories, and she has become, without question, one of the best-known proponents of dance in a city where music has long reigned supreme.

From February 25 - March 6, 2016, in celebration of Artistic Director Emeritus Ben Stevenson's 80th birthday, Houston Ballet will revive his spectacular staging of The Sleeping Beauty. The ballet is a flagship work for the company and a piece that is recognized as one of the supreme achievements of classical ballet. The Sleeping Beauty is based on the classic French fairy tale by Charles Perrault: a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for 100 years - only to be awakened by the kiss of the handsome prince who loves her. Desmond Heeley's spectacular designs beautifully evoke the magic, drama and whimsy of this great work. Houston Ballet will give nine performances of The Sleeping Beauty at Wortham Theater Center in downtown Houston. Barbra Streisand has come aboard to direct 'CATHERINE THE GREAT,' written by Kristina Lauren Anderson, it is announced by Gil Netter who will produce. With Streisand helming and Netter producing, casting is now underway.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL will run at the Omaha Community Playhouse, Nov. 20-Dec. 23, 2015. This year marks the 40th year for the production on the mainstage of OCP. In celebration of 40 years, the Omaha Community Playhouse will hold a special 'alumni reunion' party for all former and current cast and crew members on Thursday, December 17.
